I honesty believe you and Vernon Reid are the only two humans who can play that solo. It's not the speed or tone, it's the FEEL.

@@marklumpkin6109 Vernon Reid is the guy, who plays the solo in cult of personality by living colour, I’d presume that means he can play it, so idk what ur on about
@marklumpkin61093 жыл бұрын
@@dilimas8080 I’m well aware of who Vernon is. My point is that when you watch the various versions of the song, Vernon never plays the solo the same way twice. More often than not, the solo on the record and the solo he does live have nothing in common. He’s not a player like Neil Schon, who plays the solos live nearly identical to the original recording. But maybe you don’t know much about living color and this fact has gone over your head.

This is the only cover of this on the internet that sounds remotely close to the original, which is impressive. And it sounds EXACTLY like the original which is crazy impressive. Other covers can't capture the sound at all, this dude does it to 99/100

Unbelievable. Even Vernon can’t replicate this solo. Well done.

He can’t or he won’t? If there’s tabs out there for this guy to learn it, surely Vernon can easily use the same tabs? A lot of guitarist just improvise their solos when performing live, it’s more fun that way.

He knows which notes to emphasize and where to end up, but for the most part he's sticks with a three note per string pentatonic pattern and just plays them as fast as he can. It may sound cool, but from a musical standpoint, he just throws shit at the wall and sees what stick.

They said the same thing about the blues scale...calling it a scale with the wrong note, they said Hendrix was odd and strange, they said Wes Montgomery was odd and strange for playing with his thumb, they said Allan Holdsworth was odd and weird for using random notes....etc etc. FORGET ALL THE HATERS...THOSE GUITARIST WERE MASTERS...AND...
