I think Finn never wanted to bring the demon back but the powers that be asked/begged him to. So Roman can go over the “unbeatable” demon and this was the final time that Finn would do it. Romans little tap on Finns arm at the end was Romans way of saying “thanks Finn for bringing it back for me to go over” the demon won’t be back.

The heart beat stuff with Devitt as the demon would have been fine if the poor guy did not have to lower himself by losing to a roided up, piss poor, slow, weak, less agile, less skilled and less intimidating version of MLW's Jacob Fatu. But then again every person who is stuck working with that roided up clown roman reigns is being lowed and thought less of, despite 90% of WWE talent being at least 50X better as overall pro wrestlers whether Male or Female. Whether it is NXT, Smackdown or Raw talent 90% of all WWE's current talent is better overall than the steroid hound roman reigns. Which is a huge reason why I just do not watch smackdown and have not watch smackdown since the smackdown before summer slam 2020 over a year ago, when that summer slam was ruined when the roided up roman reigns returned. Other than watching a couple of clips and highlights of smackdown of which I have tried to watch highlight involving Reigns, simply because Hayman is meant to be his mouthpiece, but instead the roided up clown Reigns in his monotone voice and with his monotone facials reads his scripted lines like a robot attempting to emote while acting on broadway it is a f***ing joke.
