The best manager is the Italian restaurant that “Hollywood” Jack the Jobber eventually goes to on a date with his laptop with Edit: the hate Maffew has for the Scapegoat Bus is uncalled for, I love that bit of Jack Perry’s schtick Edit 2: after all the Butch talk, I’m shocked they haven’t seen/talked about Trick’s Butch diss track. It was NXT Endgame levels of cross over.

3:58:31 Corny mentioned here. They know no matter how anyone personally feels about Jim it would be stupid to do a podcast about greatest managers in wrestling and not mention Cornette at all. Many in the business still regard Jim as one of the greatest managers and talkers ever in wrestling.

@anoldsmellyunusedaccountАй бұрын
Re: Pockets-Gate I'm sorry but there is only so much fart-sniffing that I can take with this. Being unable to get over the opinion of another podcaster is unbelievably tedious considering all the Cum Tueaday and JD McDontGoogleMe patter is a drag at this point. You are allowed to disagree with Jim Cornette. I don't know why we have to do the Jim Cornette mention every five episodes like he isn't just another guy with a different opinion. Sure, people parrot shit that he says but that counts for everyone. In this instance, I think its valid because "Pockets" literally describes Orange Cassidy. Personally, I think the bit is old now and they have the opportunity to advance his character and they haven't done that in any meaningful way because their core audience is attracted to the deconstruction of wrestling tropes rather than the subversion of it.

Guys: first of all, 4 hours? Who is gonna give 4 hours of their lives to listen to three guys who weren’t even born make an assessment of wrestling managers they never watched perform live? How can any of you have a valid opinion about Bobby Heenan when none of you existed when he was doing weekly tv programs and nightly house shows? Honestly, why should anyone take any of your opinions seriously when none of you were alive to watch The Brain be brilliant on Prime Time Wrestling on Mondays, or steal the show at a weekend performance on Main Event/SNME, or give a consistent showing as a ringside heater or incredible color commentary stand out on any televised show? Tell me about how you would wake up on Saturdays and watch him on Superstars at noon or stay up late seeing him on SNME or a big 4 ppv or a Monday going toe to toe with Gorilla and Piper on Prime Time. You can’t! So you have no position ranking him against other 80’s managers like Lou Albano, Cornette, Slick, Fuji, Jimmy Hart, Sherri, or draw comparisons or contrasting views on Heenan vs Don Callis, Sonny Ono, Sunny, Paul Bearer or Heyman when he was Paul E Dangerously? You can’t even compare Paul E Dangerously vs the Advocate Paul Heyman because you simply weren’t there. You didn’t put the man hours in to watch week to week, month to month, year to year because you WERE NOT ALIVE! So maybe hire some people who can smarten your all up who actually watched wrestling before your parents met and got together to conceive any of you and let them talk about it. And for the love of god, stop making videos 4 hours long! No one is insane enough to endure that. Nor should anyone have the time for that. Sorry to be so harsh, but I just don’t understand how any of you ever can speak about anything that compares the golden age (the mid to late 80’s - early 90’s) to any other era because honestly, watching a few hours of 80’s ppv or an early 90’s KZbin video cannot possibly make you experts on the subject. If you weren’t there to consume it as it happened you’ll never be able to make real perspective analysis of it all, and sadly, those times from 1987-1992 were the most important years where you guys just simply don’t have the foundation to make a valid point any wrestling fan older than 40 can take seriously.
@pooeyyeoop1Ай бұрын
Okay that comment made me laugh, you should become a comedian with your jokes. That was just a joke right? Or are you just doing EXACTLY what you just bitched about in your comment?

Christ mate, take a breath. It’s just wrestling. Also, while he looks like a fresh-faced youngster Tom is actually in his 40’s so there is a good chance he got to see the majority of them in their prime.
