Love the ppv rankings for 2002-2007. Maybe not financial success, but always thought that period was the best in terms of overall product

This year was amazing! The Attitude Era was the biggest years for wrestling, then for late 98 - late 21, it kind of fizzled out for awhile, even tho they literally had THE WORLD IN THEIR HANDS. But 2002 till early 05 was a rejuvenated product. They grasped at straws until something clicked, and that was;...."RUTHLISSS. AGGRESSHUN" The Ruthless Aggression era wasnt as great as the Attitude Era, but it's definitely a close second in terms of entertainment. The sheer amount of talent they had on the roster was amazing. Jericho, edge, eddie Guerrero, kurt angle, benoit, christian, brock lesnar, undertaker, kane, shawn michaels, triple h, Ric flair, goldberg, John cena, batista, rey mysterio, the hardy boys, dudley boys, randy orton, the rock, stone cold Steve austin, hulk hogan, booker t, etc. I can literally keep going. The roster was STACKED.

The difference between the stacked roster of 2003 and the one they had before Vince went all releases is that those men seemed passionate and brought sports entertainment to the table. Today is just full of indie stars. Not like I think Styles or Nakamura are b****es, but their kind of wrestling was exactly what wasn't there in the must-see WWE. They steal nicknames and try to hype up crowds when The Rock can hype up a crowd when he's simply landing an elbow on someone.

I remember when I was a kid, we had pay TV (Cable TV) for basically all of 2003 and I was OBSESSED with the weekly shows. I was even lucky enough to scoop a few of the PPVs after nagging the parents. SummerSlam will always be my favourite and one of my favourites of all time.

I was 11 in 2003 and watching this year of WWE I preferred Raw to Smackdown. All these years later, I see what I was missing on SD. The superior show, but Raw was more entertaining.

Monday Nights on SpikeTV were awesome back then. After RAW I would always tune in to watch Robot Wars, hosted by Chyna and Mick Foley; and then afterwards or instead of airing that, they would have an all-night marathon of Most Extreme Elimination Challenge!

@@optimus2008 I've watched WWE year in year out for nearly 20 years, hundreds of PPV's watched and I still firmly believe this was the best of the lot in terms of storylines and drama in general. The big disappointment was the mainevent, the highlight was Team Austin v Team Bischoff, as a kid and even now I find it one of the most enthralling and emotion charged wrestling matches I've ever seen.

I forgot to make this comment when the original came out, so here's to second chances! Part of the problem with Insurrextion was that the card was almost a carbon copy of Bad Blood, which happened like a week later. Thus, the show was very uneventful (even for British WWE PPV standards), since they were saving all the title changes and major storyline progression for Bad Blood.

I actually really like Judgment Day. I thought it was a pretty fun show. The ladder and stretcher matches I thought were great. The banter between Austin and Bischoff throughout the show was hilarious. I also thought that everything else wasn't bad with the exception of Hogan and Piper. I won't even condemn the bikini contest because I'm a red blooded male and wow. All that being said, I would put Judgment Day in about the middle of the pack with the big four all being better and Vengeance above it as well. Personal preference I'm sure but I enjoyed it.

Judgment Day is one of the best PPV's from this year. Overall, it's a much easier show to watch back than that bi-polar Royal Rumble or pretty much any of the single branded pay-per-views.

Armageddon is ranked far too high. Backlash to me is underrated, bad blood was just average, and No Way Out was actually pretty good before the big 3 main events. Armageddon had a decent Orton vs RVD match, and a very average Batista (who was green as baby shit at the time) vs HBK match. Everything else was bad to just absolute shit.

SmackDown has always seemed to be better than Raw. During the PG and Reality Eras, SmackDown was rather silent and Raw was the main TV show with Cena vs. Punk and Cena vs. Rock, but in the Ruthless Aggression Era and since 2016, SD has always seemed to make Raw bad with good quality.

Though it is tainted to no end these days, I was really moved at the post-match scene after Angle-Benoit at the Royal Rumble. The director had to hastily switch cameras to capture a true 'moment' in wrestling. Benoit was alone in the ring, selling, and fans just started to get on their faet and applaud. It was completely organic. Fans let fans - and management - know that they really liked Benoit's talents. That Meltzer did not give it five stars is criminal.
