RIP Crash, one of of the underrated wrestling gawds. Really made my childhood fun watching his craziness. I remember that ball pit shit he did and not long after my friends lil brother had a birthday at Chuck E. Cheese and we got in trouble for having a match with each other in the ball pit. LOL. Those were GREAT times. I respect what they try to do with the 24/7 title now and truth is always great. But the magic of Crash and that 24/7 Hardcore title run was special.

It was certainly a unique belt concept which made for fun matches. I'll still stand by Undertaker being the best hardcore champ because he made things feel real by having fun matches then also brutalizing his opponents afterwards.
@GlobalWarmingSkeptic3 жыл бұрын
I think Steve Blackman was the best. Sure RVD gave the belt respectability and Crash was the originator, but Raven and Blackman gave the Hardcore title its real identity. Raven knew how to put on great matches and Blackman was legit scary and everyone knew the guy could knock anyone out in real life, which was why when he was champion I always looked forward to just seeing him kick someone's ass.

Damn right the Hardcore Battle Royale at WrestleMania 2000 was NOT a Battle Royale! I keep saying this about that match. It was the first ever Championship SCRAMBLE!!!!!!!! In a Championship Scramble match, the goal is to be the current champion by the time the timer reaches zero, and that was the EXACT scenario in that Hardcore Battle Royale!

I can't stand the 24/7 Championship, the look the of the title design, color etc. The Hardcore Title however was a gift of beauty. It was broken into pieces, raggedy it was never defended without some type of weapon being used! It was brilliant!! The Hardcore Championship will always be better than the 24/7 Championship.

Bought the HaRdCoRe Belt from the WWF website many Many MANY Years ago, definitely the most easily damaged belt. The HaRdCoRe was a sticker that always chipped off & the Gaffer Tape shunk over the years. Best quotes by wrestlers who signed it; Victoria "is that one of ours? RVD "Yes, the best one we ever had" Test " You know the pain I went through to keep that thing!!" D-Von .. Smiled & said something. Bubba .. Grunted & said nothing. (Missed opportunities, Sabu, Mick Foley, Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels, , , and RVD for the 2nd Time)

Pretty good list once you wade through the sarkiness to the upper standings. Makes me realize how much I like it hardcore. Can't argue with Crash, he gave it a new sense of purpose and became one of the key parts of a card. It's great when experiments/risks pay off in wrestling and there was a lot back then, now not so much. Taker was another highlight for me, having an unstable bully as champ hadn't been done yet and Taker was the perfect antagonist.
