One that stands out to me was Ziggler winning that Survivor Series match when Sting debuted - cant remember the year. The crowd got so behind him it reminded me of the vibes Kofi had leading up to his WM win. Unfortunately they just never did anything with him after.

I think the story of Rico beating Flair was more to do with Flair 'losing his edge', I think it was the same night where a certain HHH got in Flairs face and said he was a disappointment. Flair, perhaps motivated, turned heel and aligned with HHH helping him retain the World Title. We all know the rest...

It should have been someone that they had hopes of carrying the company going forward, not someone that was the closer side to retirement. I personally think it shouldn't have been broken, though, because whoever broke it, isn't guaranteed to the face, and it would have been wasted.

People forget in that undertaker era lost the title to edge in a ladder match, he also got beat up by big show at no mercy and then pinned by triple h for the first time in his career at no way out then he got beat by kozlov… think he also lost to Jeff hardy at some point in a extreme rules match a few months before they was having undertaker lose matches to make him look vulnerable going into Wrestlemania… the original idea probably wasn’t Shawn Michaels which is why he lost to the two heels he probably lost more matches in 2008 - early 2009 than he did in his later years or since he returned as the deadman in 2004 thankfully we had the great Shawn vs taker match at mania 25…

first one that came to mind when i read the title of the video was zack ryder beating fandango on raw in like 2015 or something like that. ryder hadn't won a match on tv in literally years, not even an entrance outside of commercial breaks (not even for that match either i don't think) and he got a huge pop when he won. i'll never forget that. then after the win he was immediately back off tv for at least another year and a half because it wasn't to make ryder look good, it was just to bury dango even more

Fandango beating someone who toppled Stone Cold and The Rock on the same night, lest we forget? And his debut match on WrestleMania? That had to be the start of something long-term. Well, some of those wins were just instrumental to further a storyline, with the winning wrestler being just an accessory. Others were attempts at pushing guys who turned out not over/good enough for the push. Not a big deal.
