As someone surrounded by non wrestling fan friends , I can assure you most of them have more likely heard of the undertaker than have heard of Stone Cold Stone Cold is a bigger name wrestling wise but mainstream definitely taker Also id say the most popular wrestling figure has to be Rock , more so than Hogan definitely today.

I totally understand about the Hall of Fame pick and things not going the way you might have expected, Ross. Not everyone can easily tell where the boundaries lie with these things. I've always been socially awkward, and I've had to learn some very hard lessons about where the boundaries are and when you're crossing the line. It's even worse when you've truly done nothing wrong but people get upset anyway. It's not natural or obvious for everyone when you're crossing the line, nor is it natural or obvious for everyone to know when apologies are needed or not needed. You hit the right notes all the time and people adore you, Ross, so one mistake in a social area that can be gray for many, including myself, can most certainly be forgiven. Everyone loves you, Ross! ❤

Undertaker is more famous overall than Austin. Those who remember the attitude era zeitgeist might say Austin, but most people would recognize Undertaker more nowadays
@TheGrimmCommoner2 жыл бұрын
Best: Entrances - Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero, Goldberg, Stone Cold Steve Austin (yes, him cursing as he walks down the ramp will always be iconic), and Melina (you know why). Music - Minoru Suzuki (KAZE NI NAREEEEEEEE!), CM Punk (name me one of his that isn't great), Sandman (because of course), Kurt Angle (sounds very patriotic and you can't listen to it without singing "You Suck!"), Dan Severn, Abyss, Sammy Zayn (the one that sounds like a Nintendo song and everyone sings, even though there's no lyrics) and Alex Riley (I'm not joking). Special entrances - Demon Balor, Stone Cold Steve Austin (when there's already another match taking place and he kicks the crap out of everyone), and Okada (all of them).

I keep up with whats going on in the wrestling world listening to Jim Cornettes podcasts and this one i feel i get the opposite perspectives on much of whats going on in wrestling today and they all make me laugh alot. Love Maffew Ross and Jack the OGs of this podcast also love to Tom Adam Andrew Sam Richard and everyone else in the Cultaholic office who gets referenced in these podcasts. Im looking forward to the first 4 hour video

I think Taker would be better known, simply because of the length of his run. If you were a kid in a 90s all the way through to the 2020s you'll know undertaker. Whereas Austin's run was relatively short, even though he was massive in his time.

Undertaker has been around for so long he became synonymous with wrestler for a time. Before I got into wrestling, a mate may have had wrestling on in the background and there would be Undertaker mentioned. Very little of Austin except for surprise appearances.

Absolutely would say Undertaker would win that street poll thing. I'm about the age of the lads on the podcast, but usually when I bring up wrestling among non-wrestling fan friends (including younger kids I train in university debate) those that know anything about it will bring up the Rock or Cena or Undertaker. (And Batista because he has Filipino heritage and obvs he got big with Marvel.) I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about Austin amongst my non-wrestling fan friends.
