When top WCW guys did show up, most were pushed extremely quickly like Steiner and Goldberg. Even DDP was honestly pretty washed by 2001 and it’s pretty telling a top rope suplex essentially ended his career shortly after Hell need i remind you McMahon booked Jericho a WCW cruiserweight guy to defeat BOTH his top two stars on the same night? Or Eddie Guerrero defeating Lesnar at No Way Out? Or Benoit making Triple H tap out at WM? Even though it was a missed opportunity to give Booker T a WM victory against Hunter, Booker eventually won KotR which revived his career and won a sixth world title. Yeah the real reason Sting went to TNA was because he got paid a ton of money to show up twice a year for a match.

The video didn't separate the idea of main event from closing the show or maybe it did and I missed it. Flair at Mania 8 was part of an advertised double main event. At Survivor Series 92, Flair and Razor were featured as the main event on the poster versus the Ultimate Manaics but Mr. Warrior was let go a week before hand. Strange but HBK and Hitman closed the show at 92 Series so this later became the main event. If Brett only knew what would have happened five years later.

That Ric Flair's first retirement match against Shawn Michaels not only didn't close out Wrestlemania 24 but also was in the middle of the card is crazy to me. Undertaker vs. Edge is great, but god damn, with how much of a build up they had over four months of not having Ric lose any singles matches, you'd have thought they would at least put it second last. Or at the very least not surrounded by a 11 second joke between Kane and Chavo and a Playboy Lumberjill match.
