Hell yeh. This is a recipe for a cult classic. Sure, Ben Stiller, Christopher Walkin, Owen Wilson, Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta etc. could have been in but the cheeky selfish bastards were out to lunch. Sometimes you just got to roll with whatever's around. They did a great job. Ever seen John Carpenter's films?

Mysterious phantom in bizarre outfit attacking people in the Valley? Happens every day, my darlings, ha ha ha ha. Yeah well, nothing happens in this one, but it's a "fun bad movie", so it's good for riffing. Many cigarettes were smoked. At least it had a lady scientist (pointlessly mixing things in beakers; it's like she was cooking), so that made this drive-in spectacular cutting edge.

Budget? The entire cast worked for sandwiches 3 times a day. They were allowed to sleep in small camping tents , provided by the prop department, for the duration of the filming production (2 1/2 days), after which they were required to take them back to the props department. Then they were escorted of the property and thrown , literally, back into the streets of downtown LA, from whence they came. They were also court ordered to never return to said property nor come within 2 city blocks of same, or they would be shot on site. It was recorded that one of the actors had stolen production company property and was hunted down by hired security to take the offender in custody, drag him, literally, back to within 2 blocks of company property and shot. They said that it was not just for punishment but also a deterrent to others. The security responsible for the quick arrest were honored for retrieving the stolen property smuggled out which was a half of a sandwich, which was tossed into the garbage can.

When do they eat? Does no-one get hungry? Where are the kitchens? Sorry, not very sci-fi, just thinking of the practicalities.
