Ignore the negative comments. This film was never intended to be an Oscar contender and is an old-fashioned enjoyable romp. Lighten up, critics, and enjoy the free movie.

I actually like oldies, no CGI, and yet a story helping to make them more believable. These movies took a lot more time to do since most were also using backdrops which artists, using their artistic abilities and creativity, adding their talents into completing the work. Many people were used to do this work. These are what would be called the low budget B movies, and a series with them would be shown in theaters on the big screens first before the main event film. Movies back then were a lot cheaper to go to in theaters than they are today, so going to the movies was a big thing with everyone because money was scarce and pay was low. If a family didn’t go all year, they would then be treated to a free movie. Most of these types of movies were made during the 1920’s, 30’s, and 40’s when hard times of the Stock Market Crash, the Great Depression, WW I, and WW II a reminder of working together and the sacrifices people made to keep our nation together and free from oppression. In keeping the family together, my dad was a part of that workforce, while my mother raised 2 children during this ordeal in helping to keep the family together. Movies became a relief for stressful situations. I have great respect for those who made movies during these eras. It wasn’t easy to do. ❤

That's the outward appearance. On the flip side, movies were used by nefarious manipulators to soften and distract the people under the guise of caring for them and entertaining them, with the goal of lulling them to sleep so they would not notice the takeover of the powerful aspects of government and expanding that power under the guise of "safety". The generation that grew up in the 40's and 50's was a soft generation. We are now reaping the evil reward of those who do not keep a vigilant eye out for infringements upon their liberties. Look how many things you now have to obtain a permit or license to do, which 70 years ago you had the right to do!

Everybody so far hasn't commented about Robin's Ward ( no, not that one, but same decade), actor, Wilt Bissell, who later also had an ancient "relative" double role as the "General" of Project Tick Tock ( 😉 aka 'The Time Tunnel'-1966-67). Also, the actress who played Maid Marion resembles a teenage Shirley Temple

Interesting attempt at colouring the film, and this film DOES benefit from some colour, though I always thought Robin Hood and his Merry Men dressed in Lincoln Green not purple? However the flesh tones are very good and the HD quality is excellent, and certainly better than b & w.

They used funny colors for the clothing as some colours wouldn't look as intended. on B/W film. For instance if I remember correctly red would turn into black. Then of course when you try to colorize these odd colours the result as colour film is even more odd.
