Delightful 1938(?) comedy. Pure good-hearted nonsense. People needed it then. We need it even more now.

Never seen this, and I've been watching classic movies for some time. I like Constance (and her sister Joan💘) so I'm looking forward to this. Roland Young is always good.

This is a lot of fun. really enjoyable. Roland Young has amazing body control and is absolutely believable when being pushed by characters that are not there. Leaving the bank and the dancing sequence are masterpieces of body movement. He is simply awe inspiring. No Pantomime ever did it better, and I would go so fare as to name the great Marcel Marceau in this matter. Billie Burke is sooooo good in this, but then she always is. Really the entire cast is quite wonderful. If you want to see another film starring Roland Young that is amazing watch 'THE MAN WHO COULD WORK MIRACLES'. If you think 'Topper Takes a Trip' has great special effects wait until you see .'The Man Who Could Work Miracles'.

Billie Burke and throughout you can hear some of the tune used in the Oz song "It really was no miracle," at least I think that was the one, just a snippet. A great sequel.

Who needs green screen when you've got actors?
@j.criquette33346 ай бұрын
Certainly there was some very clever acting, such as the solo dance sequences, but don't kid yourself that there wasn't any special effects in this movie. They didn't have green screen back that, but green screen was developed out of matte techniques that were invented back in the 30s and 40s. This film was nominated for an Oscar for Special Effects in 1939.

@@brithaddenhadden8383 Cary Grant was her husband who was killed in the car accident with her in the first one. I think my favorite is Topper Returns because it has Rochester in that one. "I'm going back to work for Mr. Benny! This kind of stuff never happened with him". LMAO

Sort of like BEWITCHED tv series with elizabeth montgomery. Such great actors and scripts you tend to overlook the total fanatsy of the story line and get involved in the characters hijinks

Joan Bennett played in a lot of Film Noir movies of this time period. She also starred in the Gothic Tv series of the 60s, Dark Shadows.
