Dr. Carla Portugal, Dr. Adam Cobb, and Dr. Elaine Ingham will join us to talk about the role of soil life in our biosphere.
✅ Register to join us live 👉 www.sfw.one/cultivating-livin...
They will share remarkable examples of soil regeneration in action, as well as discuss case studies highlighting the work of our students and consultants, who are changing the world by regenerating one piece of land at a time! See how partnerships between plants and microorganisms build and maintain the core functions of soil ecosystems, and find out why, when developing land management plans for permaculture, regenerative agriculture, ecological restoration, syntropic agroforestry, or any other production system, soil food webs are the heart of the system!
There will also be a Q&A session for those interested in furthering their education in soil regeneration. This one's for you where you want to be a soil biology consultant, are a farmer or gardener!

The Soil Food Web School’s mission is to empower individuals and organizations to regenerate the soils in their communities. The Soil Food Web Approach can dramatically accelerate soil regeneration projects by focussing on the soil biome. This can boost the productivity of farms, provide super-nutritious foods, protect and purify waterways, and reduce the effects of Climate Change. No background in farming or biology is required for our Foundation Courses. Classes are online & self-paced, and students are supported by highly-trained Soil Food Web School mentors.
Over the last four decades, Dr. Elaine Ingham has advanced our knowledge of the Soil Food Web. An internationally-recognized leader in soil microbiology, Dr. Ingham has collaborated with other scientists and with farmers around the world to further our understanding of how soil organisms work together and with plants. Dr. Ingham is an author of the USDA's Soil Biology Primer and a founder of the Soil Food Web School.

I remember talking about this nearly 40 years ago. We were not just fringe we were deranged. 🤫 I’m so glad this has come so far. I hope this knowledge continues to grow exponentially!!🎉

I’m inviting the Soil Food Web School to come to St Vincent and the Grenadines, Eastern Caribbean . We undoubtedly have the soils with the best structure in the entire Americas. 100 percent of Volcanic origin. However, over sixty years of Banana monoculture on about half of the cropped land, using inorganic inputs, the soil biology is very low. Since the year 2013, our Agriculture has been severely damaged by a plethora of pests and diseases which we never had before. This , along with the political lack of support for Agriculture, has caused a huge decline in banana production and has left quite a lot of land fallow. The few farmers who practice regenerative agriculture, organic agriculture and sustainable farming all have fairly high levels of biology in their soils. St Vincent will be very interesting to see, and I know that you have not seen soils with so deep a profile of arable material. Please try your best to make a visit and I am trying my best to make it happen.

I love seeing Turf Grass case studies done by friends and colleagues of the Soil Food Web School. As you may surmise I dig Turf Grass... pun intended😂 Open minds are necessary, since lawns happen and some folks love Turf Grass. 🙏🇨🇦👊🏻👨‍🌾💖from Belleville Ontario Canada

Not only saving them from chemical dependency, but we'll also build local energy systems that feed batteries that run the properties and gradually get everyone self sustaining.

Hola, thanks a lot for the great information you share with us!! Really inspiring..... Regarding the question about "gaps in the soil revolution". Are you collaborating with people like BiomeMakers that are using advanced data analytics to understand biology better? I think both approaches will help a lot, Dr. Elaine´s amazing knowledge and her team working together with cutting edge technology to help us speed up soil revolution?

One key point not mentioned here is that plants produce no digestive enzymes or acids. That leads into a whole larger conversation. I often hear people online saying "the soil needs organic matter". But in their mind they think that organic material is directly feeding the plant. But if the plant can't digest that dead shredded plant material itself then how is that beneficial to the plant they are trying to grow? People don't ask enough questions why's to get to the root answer The answer is, the organic material feeds the biology or re-establishes missing biology that in turn can digest that organic material and through the poop loop and nutrient cycling, feeds the plant.

Where is the proof that rain drops would kill microbes on the soil... when it rains the microbes burrows deep enough, besides, they are always beneath the surface
