You have a lot more to learn. Ewe is one of the largest tribe in West Africa spanning from Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria. In fact there are Ewes in Sudan as of today. To know Ewes, you have to travel and live among them for a while and learn thier language.

Well said. No one was Ghanaian until there was Ghana. That being said, the assertion that Ẽʋẽawo did not have a name for themselves is incorrect. As you said, the Germans took what they were told by the people, Ẽʋɛ̃awo or Ʋẽawo (Ẽʋẽ people) which is what the people call themselves and wrote Ewe (female sheep). Ʋ is not part of German or English letters so they substituted Ʋ with W, some circles b. The sound Ʋ is equally challenging for most as you can attest to so here we are. With regards to what language Ẽʋẽs speak, they speak, Ʋẽgbe which means, Ʋɛ̃ language. Gbe is Language, Sound or Vibration. For example, Fanti Gbe Fanti Language), Gẽ Gbe ( Ga Language), Yẽvu Gbe (European Language) etc. Saying they speak Gbe language is to say, they speak language, language. Ẽʋẽgbe or Ʋẽgbe is the language spoken by Ẽʋẽs. It has 30 letters and 5 combination sounds - Dz/dz, Gb/gb, Kp/kp, Ny/ny, Ts/ts. Before the scramble of Africa and arbitrary lines drawn separating families and their land divided, their land from Nigeria to Ghana was known as ẼƲɛ̃ Nyigba (Ẽʋɛ̃ land). This area became known as Slave Coast in later years as older maps indicate. With a little bit digging and research one will find that places like Akosombo among many others had Ẽʋẽ names before Nkrumah changed them. It's nefarious to change the names of landmarks and towns as it disassociate the people and sooner or later, future generations do not remember or choose not to know so they can behave wickedly.

Mr. Historian, I'm afraid you would have to unlearn and relearn. How can you say Ewes didn't have a name? Even inanimate things have names. The thing is you don't know the truth. Corrctions: 1. Our name is Adzaviwo 2. Ewes are in South Sudan too. Not only the four you've mentioned .lol 3. It is true were were in Ethiopia. That's why there are still ewes in Sudan. 4. We were in Mali. Ghana ( Gana) Empire. Gana was the leader of the ewes who won their wars. He was a mysterious man. He was called Amedidzata(maridzata). It means lion-like human being. His name Gana is hyena in ewe. He got all the above names from his mysterious powers with which he won battles for the ewes. His real name was Gbetor Zewuze Tsali Akplormada. 5. When a group of people left Dahomey, they didn't go to Notsie, they were in Dalia in Togo for a little while and some group left for Notsie later. It wasn't like they were moving enmass. Groups moved leaving their compatriots behind to own the land. 6. Ewes did not come from Togo to Ghana. Rather, Western Togoland was attached to Gold Coast. Its not like we moved into a Gold Coast territory; we were attached. 7. That "eiboe" thing you spoke about as basis for Ayigbe is not true. Eiboe (Yiboe) means black in Ewe. Think about it . What do you think our people were trying to tell that German? As for the Ayigbe thing, I don't want to talk about it now. Meanwhile, it has got to do with the Ga people and Anehos. Your history about the other stuff is pretty good. Finally, it is not all ewes who came from Notsie. Some were left in South Sudan, Badagree, Tado(Dahomey), Dalia and Notsie. From these places, the scattered around their neighborhoods. The ones who came from Notise are in part of Togo and Ghana Thanks.

Ayigbe comes from two words, Ayi and gbe. Ayi is a Ga Chief from Accra, who went to Aneho in Togo with the stool because of wars in Accra. After the wars people from Accra went to convince him to come back, because they can speak the Ewe language, they said Ayi "gbe" gbe means refuse. So the Ga Chief Ayi refuse is (Ayi gbe) ....Ayigbe. There is no tribe called ayigbe. The Ga's and Ewe's both migrated from Israel.

It is laughable when some people claim to be more Ghanaians than Ewes. They do that ignorantly or don't understand the historical demarcations of the colonial rule that predates the Gold Coast and present-day Ghana.

It is wrong for him to say that Ewes had no name before the German missionaries named the so. The Ewes were originally known as Dogbo. They were named so because one of the places they settled was known as Dogbo Nyigbo which still exists in Benin Republic

Most of his information are correct. If you have more you add up. I know there are history about Eves to be told. Most people don't know it was the Eves who fathered the Akwamus, the Akwamus were or are Eves. Their Ancestral father is Akplormada from Anlo Eves. The Chakosi people are Eʋe Akans they can still be found in Togo as I type, they are the origin of the Akans, they mixed up with the indigenous Eʋe and the Northerners to form the Akans in Ghana now. We have a lot to learn.
