RIP Bowie. Bowie had such an impact on Boy George's early life. And Culture Club have done an excellent cover version here of Starman. And Boy George ROCKS on BBC The Voice UK!

So many stars tributed Bowie after his death, Boy George already worshipped him when he was alive.

I'm not a gay person but it sickens me the way people bash Boy just because of sexual preference. IDGAF what a person does behind closed doors as long as it's consensual. He has an amazing singing voice and songwriting talent. Amazing tribute to the Starman Mr. George CHEERS!

***** Thanks man. It's just sad because most people are much more than skin color or private parts...

+Patrick Simmons ...well said - I second the sentiment ...Boy has only ever communicated love and acceptance. His main life issues were with drug addiction, but who could blame him for trying find escape from a life of beratement. I'm glad he persevered ...he's was an important icon of the early 80's.
@patricksimmons3959 жыл бұрын
jangyman He definitely went through the wringer. When he got really strung out I expected him to be found dead somewhere but he pulled through thankfully...
@petereplica8 жыл бұрын
+Patrick Simmons I totally agree, indeed I saw 'George' at the Meltdown a few years back and have seen his autobiographical play, both in London( a 'should see'. The 'consensual' tickled me a bit. He was convicted for tying a bloke to his radiator, keeping him prisoner in his NY apartment. Also for supplying heroin to a man that died from it (london 1986). I would never 'dis' the bloke; he's well over 6 feet tall and well built also!, he did a lot of boxing before he was 'Boy'. I totally respect the guy nonetheless.

+Patrick Simmons the small minded among us will always try and drag the rest of us into the gutter with them... so, to use the scientific term: FUCK THEM... George is awesome... although, he is turning into a lovely old broad... :)

That Boy George and Culture Club: absolutely awesome, always great. A visit from George O'Dowd to Puerto Rico in the 80's was A Sensational Event. Didn't even had to sing on TV, he was everywhere on the radio and on video already. For he was truly the Starman to us all, y'know?! I'll tumble 4 ya, yay!

***** We know that, who doesn't? But his sexual preference doesn't matter, I'm not attracted to him that way, I like him as an artist, as a human being, I like his personality, his smile, his charisma, and if I met him I would love to give him a big hug.

+Daniel Doré Oh yes. It's so funny - my very bestest friend is a big strong masculine (very very straight) guy who absolutely loves the Boy's voice (and football and martial arts). After his comeback recently my friend made a point of listening to and comparing old and new recordings of him. He has the best hearing I have ever encountered, and can instantly pick out what do for bands... He asked me to dig up and play "Do You Want To Hurt Me" in a recent YT video from 2014. With some trepidation, I did so... he listened quietly. I glanced over, and a gentle little smile was playing on his lips. "So, what do you think?" I babbled, with an attempt to explain vocal cord damage etc. ... he held his hand and smiled again. All he had to say was "Like a fine old wine...". :) :) :)

Bryan Narváez I am sorry but I think it was pure schlock! There were others who could have done it far better. Lorde's tribute at the Brit Awards was simply sublime! Lady Gaga is very talented but she was out of her element in a poorly constructed tribute and performance by Nile Rodgers.
