Takayama's autumn color is a little earlier. Usually between late October to early November :)

I was in takayama 8 years ago during winter time. Hida no sato and old town takayama were my favorite places. Btw what camera are you using?

honestly if you go in off season you can get tickets for about 500$ this march they were 500 and thats from connecticut which is an even longer flight
