ok rule nr 1 if anyone trying to force you into a buy in jamaa el fna is probably a scammer, 2nd anything ANYTHING above 20$ is most likely a scam 3rd don't buy anything if you feel uncomfortable and u are just trying to be nice, your heart will always feel in the wrong place if it's a scam. And finally that henna or any henna job is worth around 3$ at best.

I am Moroccan and all the times I visited Merakech the same thing happens to me and my family with those guys who try to force you into eating at their restaurants... it doesn't matter to them if you're foreigners or not. They do that to everyone. Best thing to do is ignore them because once you speak even if it's a no it'll be like a signal to them to start a whole speech of why it should be a yes. 🤦‍♀️ (ah it's better not to eat there at all, it's not delicious and not at all how authentic Moroccan food should taste like🙁)

Next time don't let anyone force you into doing something you don't want to do like the henna lady did, i mean that's the way they scam people, you should've tried being a bit aggressive and refuse to give her your hand, and let me tell that $70 or even $15 is too much for that because it doesn't cost even $10, but that's how scammers work they're being so fast in their actions to confuse you and do what they wanna do. However i wanna say this is a great vlog and i hope that you've enjoyed the tour in my city!

Morrocan here. If you want a genuine morrocan experience, pleeaaaase stay away from Marrakesh! The city is like a giant tourist trap, I mean, getting scammed like this, even if its just 15 dollars (which is a a lot for a henna tattoo, trust me, and she wanted 70 dollars?!) ruins the whole experience. The hassle and the constant harrassement ruins it too. Even us "locals" get harrassed and scamed in the Marrakesh medina. I personnaly dont like the city that much. Try a nicer more mellow city instead, Chefchaouen and Essaouira comes in mind first. Agadir too if you wanna have a nice stay on a beach resort. Or visit the country side, try to book hiking trips on the mountains, visit the Sahara desert. Anyway, I hope you had a great time, and you're welcome anytime in our beautiful country.

Chaos is natural because those alleys were built centuries ago. The old city of Marrakesh is almost a thousand years old, when the population of it was only a few thousand, while now the population of Marrakesh has exceeded one and a half million Moroccan citizens, add to that millions of foreign tourists every year! !!...All of this leads to pressure and chaos...and there is also not much to do, because the whole old city of Marrakesh, including Jemaa El-Fna Square and the Koutoubia and all the alleys leading to it...are registered in UNESCO as a material heritage that cannot be Change it, let alone demolish it to widen the streets!!!...Now we ask the government only to prevent motorcycles and vehicles from entering those alleys in order to reduce congestion..

Hey! Thank you! Hahaha the apple juice was very surprising! It is definitely more of a shake than a juice. Still tasted great though, and actually I think the fresh juice in Morocco was the best we have ever had, especially for the price. There's really good juice in the US but it's always really expensive.

@@OnePackWanderers well you should know negotiating prices in Morocco is a thing :p nothing wrong with it, if there isn't a fixed price in the menu then for sure you can try to lower the price, they expect you to negotiate the price so at first they ask for a big price

If You van avoid Marrakech, do it. Especially the Medina and the big market square. I have been stopped non stop. Constantly aware of not being ripped of or even threatened by Young Man. My longues are filled with gasoline gaz of all the scooters going true the Medina which for Me is a crime. The big Market place is nothing more than a market place. Prices are over the top and as always have to find out You paid much to much. My advice is travel to the Canary' Island's. So much cheaper and never trouble with being ripped off or hassled around. So if You have enough of it than fly from Marrakech to Gran Canaria with Ryan air, very cheap. From there You can travel by boat to any Isle You want for not to much and You will have a great time without having to be alert. Non stop. It is really very expensive here food wise in compare with Canary Islands. Not really clever. No more Marokko
