This video was sooo informative! I feel like it explained a lot more realness of living in japan than most videos i've seen on a similar topic

Thank you I’m glad it helped in some way! Ya I think the idea of living in Japan is pretty romanticized but I wish I heard about these things before I moved so I could feel more prepared! Of course there will always be a learning curve no matter where you move to😉

i relate so much to these! i once said i didn't need a bag but the woman at the bento stall said she was required to put it into a plastic bag...lol. i'm also part-japanese and moving to tokyo soon, nice to see someone with a similar story :)

Hey Leilani!! Can you do a video on what you do in japan for a living and tips on finding a job there?☺️☺️
@leilanirika3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I was thinking about possibly doing that but I don't think I'm the best candidate to speak on finding work here because I don't have to go through the difficult visa process! I know that is usually the biggest hurdle when foreigners are finding work in Japan😣 I'm lucky enough that I just found work through some friends!

Now Japan has started to decrease its overtime work, there is no longer waiting for the boss to come home, They are the current generation who place a lot of importance on work-life balance
@leilanirika4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, I have noticed a lot of change with the current generation! I'm so pleased to see more importance put on work-life balance.
@ivanbudianto19624 жыл бұрын
@@leilanirika Yup, even though there are still "workaholics" but this is part of a process that takes a long time for the future of Japan to implement a "work-life balance" overall and eliminate the stereotypes about Japanese work culture that foreigners have so far feared. Because there are still a lot of western media (which are sometimes cynical about Japan) still reporting things like that, even though Japan has decreased long working hours, it seems even more Americans if we look at an index.

Hi! so I do have a question about internet shopping. Is Amazon widely used in Japan? I know you have mentioned Amazon in some of your videos, but I was wondering how practical it is to order from Amazon while being in Japan, as I am an Amazong junky myself haha
@leilanirika3 жыл бұрын
Yes Amazon is very widely used in Japan!

@XSemperIdem53 жыл бұрын
Ah, so after hours trains in Japan insanity is like Metro during the day in Los Angeles 😅 No but seriously, fights an stabbings are not unheard of. Yes, those plastic wrapped bananas make me bananas (🤦 I'm sorry it's 4am, this is the best I've got in jokes at this time). Ok hold up, where in L.A. did you hang out that people were all dressed up all the time? What I do find funny is that there will be one person in shorts and a tank top and the next person is wearing a freaking hoodie. How do people wear hoodies in 80F or even higher temps?
