Wow thanks for taking me back down memory lane, I have done that trip twice from Kenya to South Africa, one via Mozambique (very dangerous then immediately after the war) and the other one via Zambia, I was a teenager before camera phones in early 2000's.

Yes. Tanzania is expanding Makambako Tunduma road to dual carriageway. About Dodoma, it is not planning there is a lot of construction going on in Dodoma from Magufuli government city, NCC link city, new judiciary building, new state house, new international airport and more than 160km of dual carriageway. So no planning it is actual construction

Dodoma was chosen to be the capital city due to it’s central location and availability of vast land for expansion. Major projects including construction of government staff houses, malls, government offices, social amenities, etc are being implemented. The East Africa’s largest airport is underway in this city. 115km long bypass road around the city is too being done. It terms of size, Dodoma is 4th largest city after Dar, Mwanza and Arusha. Dar remains the country’s major financial hub. Arusha is both East African capital and headquarter for tourism. Mwanza cover Northern side as a financial hub.

One thing you did not mention about Dodoma is that the government cited Dodoma as new capital and administrative city, one to grow another city because Dar was congested and was not growing. Two Dodoma is central to Tanzania and small in order for it to be grown and expanded.

@@LIVKENYA Keep up with the good work. I think the lake communities around the world should have a better way of disposing the fish waste properly so they don’t smell too much. I come from the lake region. Kisumu is the cleanest city in Kenya. Historically we know many people in Kenya didn’t eat Fish because of the smell. And at a times people degraded other people based on that. Things have improved and it is based on constructive criticism. Remember when you see something give a helping hand on how to go about it. You are doing a great job. You are giving us a positive honest opinion. I’m a great supporter for your good work.
