Nice video you captured quite a bit. In Nairobi we have many parks not animal related. The Karura forest, the Uhuru gardens, Uhuru park, chiromo park etc. These provide the fresh air and relaxation/recreational places we need in Nairobi and were fought for by civil and environmental activists like Peace Laurette Professor Wangari Maathai. Visit them too.

Greetings! Thanks for your commentary on how you see Kenya compared to Nigeria. One thing I’d mention and maybe you could touch on is the fact that Kenya has some of the best coastal life (beaches) in Africa - and the general public has unfettered access; meaning, NO ONE has to pay for access. I don’t know if the same can be said of Nigeria.
@adeolaharold
@adeolaharold 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. Unlike kenya in Nigeria we have to pay for access to most of the beaches.

In terms of rent, it is financial system issue. In Kenya mortgage facilities are widely available hence house ownership is far wider and as such competition is wider so landlords cannot dictate rental payment. The higher the amount one pays in advance is advantageous for a landlord whereas a lower amount favours the tenant!!

The transport system in kenya from matatu to riders, is highly regulated all the buses or matatu operate in a group called the Sacco, they target different customers most of the young people prefer using matatu that has music in it, but also we have matatus operated by big companies those ones have music but its not loud in fact you can ask the driver to turn it off all together in short matatu is a culture that has ben there for years.

@adeolaharold Yes! Kiswahili is the national language of Kenya and is the language of the Swahili people of the East African coast, but not everyone speaks it fluently of course since they also speak their own languages. The UN declared it a world language in 2022 as it is spoken by over 100 million people around the world but especially in East Africa. It is the official language of Tanzania and is also spoken in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Congo. You're correct in your assessment that it makes our region rather unique.

How do you get to stay there permanently with regards to immigration and residency? I definitely wouldn't like to live in their country illegally.
@adeolaharold
@adeolaharold 8 ай бұрын
Hi, of course, coming illegally is not a good idea. My hubby is an expatriate in Kenya and I came with him. So, I won’t count that as a permanent residency. If you are able to get a job here, I think that could be a start.

Talking about molue instead of BRT in 2024 invalidates this video

Thank you for bringing this up. This is absolutely true and I was really pained when I realised I missed this out in the video. I think trying to compare the matatu culture in Nairobi and the yellow bus drivers in Lagos got me carried away. However, thank you once again for bringing this up which is very valid, considering BRT is a more advanced transport setup in Lagos.

I was disappointed too when she didn't mention BRT. However, tbvh it doesn't invalidate the video. She did absolutely great.
