about korea and koreans. the only thing i'll say is that the interesting thing was the "blocking" out of bad memories, i've seen a lot of this with koreans. koreans are pros at this. i'm not a fan. it creates a lot of "just go with the flow" "this is just how things" attitudes which i think is the root cause for a lot of problems in korea's culture. granted it's probably been the reason for a lot of korea's development because of instead of wallowing or complaining they just get up and keep grinding, but as an american it's infuriating dealing with that kind of attitude. problems should be addressed, not ignored.

As a Korean guy, honestly Korean guys are poossies. They always try to avoid fights even it is necessary

Canadian, I've lived across canada and Toronto is one of the warmest, its true we are very open and friendly. I lived in Toronto for 5 years and the traffic and business of it drove me to leave. I can only imagine Korea. Thank you for educating us !

when you talked about talking to strangers that often, I laughed, agreeing with that. I am a Canadian and was born and raised in Montreal and both my parents are from Africa so my mom and my dad would strike up conversations with strangers like it wasn't a big deal. Of course, I was more of a shy person and still kinda am, but I really love just being able to experience these sorts of things. I remember back in my first year of boarding, it was one of my first outings with my new friends, and I spotted a girl around my age reading a book that I really liked and that my childhood friend and I would talk about all the time back in my old school. It was my first time in an English school and environment, and also my first time getting the courage to initiate conversation. I was so scared, but I was so relieved and happy to be met with enthusiasm and cheerfulness. I was really happy, and although our conversation lasted at most 2 minutes, I had gained a lot of confidence thanks to that. I even try to talk to the people that my mom and dad strike conversations with. It really is such a wonderful feeling. I now take the initiative of being nice and talking to random people! thank you for such an honest and in-depth view of Canada! I really do love seeing that! You got yourself a new subscriber :D

new sub! i fell in love with how raw and honest you are in your korea videos. I can tell it's honest because you said things almost everyone else neglected to say because they were using sugarcoating language.

My 2 cents: for many of these points, Quebec is a lot different from Anglo Canada. And, similarly, 수도권 is pretty different from 지방 (mid-sized cities like 광주, 경주, 구미, etc ) with a slower pace and more small-town feel.

Slightly different, same money and laws tho. You still have to pay taxes. Insurance is less in Quebec for some reason

I’ve just had a bad experience with Koreans which initially caused some prejudice in me. Not towards Koreans as a whole, or ethnic Koreans who are culturally Canadian, but rather to a specific elitist class. The culture of bullying in Korea is something I, as a Canadian, cannot really fathom - which is why it was so hard to process when I witnessed their behaviour. It was directed at a friend, not at myself, but it was a level of disrespect I have never seen. I struggled with the negative emotions I was feeling - I was very cognizant of the experience triggering a prejudice, and aware that prejudices can be a slippery slope. The anger that arose in defensiveness of my friend began to melt into empathy and sadness for them. They were clearly wealthy, beautiful women, but I could only pity them for their behaviour. I saw them as little children, who felt insecure at their core, using cruelty as a mask of superiority to the world around them. I understood their rudeness as a product of a social culture which condones bullying, racism, elitism. I empathized with how exhausting that must be, to always be worrying about how you are perceived, and to pick on others to make yourself feel better about being picked on. Now I’m trying to broaden my exposure to Korean individuals so as not to allow any subconscious biases to persist - negative experience are more psychologically salient than positive ones (of which I have had many), so dismantling bias is an active process. I do sincerely hope that with globalization and exposure to broader cultures, this culture of elitism and bullying dissipates within Korea (as I understand this isn’t an insular, one off experience - I know from doing some research that this is an ongoing issue in Korea / china). I’m the meantime, I thank you for helping to balance my perspectives on Korean nationals.

Best way to have service in Canada is in person lol. A lot of suicidal attempts in the subways.

If you ever need to close a bank account here in Canada again, you just take out your money, and after awhile they’ll just close it themselves. I would suggest if you are ever working in a different country again to look into labour laws, swearing at employees is not allowed. Unfortunately people from different countries are treated badly because they are usually unaware of the laws here. There are really bad work environments even for us. You can still contact our labour board to see if you can get the money you were not paid. I enjoyed listening to your time here and seeing things from your perspective. I also like hearing about your country as well, who knows I might have an opportunity to visit there one day and it’s good to know the good and the bad of other places. Your English is very good also 🎉 excellent job!

Good video, Canada is getting better with the technology thing. This has nothing to do with slow service pace, it depends on the country and it's available technology. I'm guessing Sienna never been to the Carribean or West Africa. She would be frustrated there.

lol yeah. so many great things about Korea but I freaking HATE working here. maybe if Korea ever somehow magically fixed the work and study culture I'd consider living here again. but until then (which honestly, probably won't happen anytime soon haha)? nope. not for me. huge deal breaker.

"Everything is slower in Canada... I had trouble with my wifi I think... took months to close my account" **me, French Canadian: immediately starts laughing** Related to being shocked by caring bosses, my own story: - I'm down the sewers doing my thing (literally, 'cuz I have a degree in industrial scale treatment of water) and a shadow is suddenly cast on me. It's my boss. "I want you to wear your hard hat. I know it's warm, but I don't want anything happening. By the way, how are you dealing with these new fiber grates I bought? You operated the steel ones, right? These do feel lighter, better and safer to manipulate yeah? [continues to almost have a 5 minutes brag about the health and safety improvements on-site]". - As an intern, my boss spent so much time talking about safety that I was mislead thinking that was the norm, and I didn't realize just how amazing he was with us. Beginning every shift with a 10 minutes rundown of work and safety, up-to-date equipment, occasional union leader talk, etc. Side note: French Canada == Quebec, the first European nation that arrived in Canada, but was then conquered by British military a 100+ years later, and they've (English) been trying to erase us ever since. Unfortunate that you didn't get to cross over the Ontario border: Quebec City is a very beautiful city and has one of the only fortified cities in North America (as a result of defending against British warships 300 years ago).

Love this comment. But just wanted to add a small thing. French Canada is not just Quebec. Yes, Quebec is a large part (and one of my favourites!), but French Canada also includes New Brunswick (the only officially bilingual Canadian province) and parts of other provinces.

Lord Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, please don’t worship celebrities and entertainment, focus on Him alone. I promise there’s more to life than money, partying, homosexuality and music. Hell is real, repent from sinning confess your sins and ask God to forgive you, I know He will if you’re sincere. Anyone who thinks the Name of Lord Jesus Christ is a joke, boldly mocks and scorns Him or takes pleasure in people who do is in for a big unpleasant surprise on judgement day IF they don’t repent and follow Lord Jesus Christ. Hell is very hot, people please repent! In the mighty name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏💪✝️💜❤️✝️! Idolatry such as, Islam, Catholicism, Sangomaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Santa Clausism, Confucianism, New Age, Science, Evolution, halloweenism, Harry Potterism, Politics, Donald Trumpism, Easter Bunnyism and other religions/faiths that are outside Biblical Christianity lead to hell! Don’t believe them, believe the Almighty God the Father of Lord Jesus Christ, who begot Him. Our Creator, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is mighty, He doesn’t need a woman to beget a son, He is God. I choose to put my faith in a God who can do anything and everything, a God who has unlimited and infinite power to beget! So, it’s time to confess that Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord and to believe that He died and rose from the grave after three days and you shall be saved if you only obey Him by praying, worshipping, praising, reading the Bible and living holy and righteously according to the Bible. You have to endure until the end, carry your cross daily and build your relationship with God by following Lord Jesus daily until the end. You must never renounce your faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, there’s hell awaiting those who reject/deny Lord Jesus Christ and those who continue living sinfully, even the Christians who don’t want to repent will face the same fate, so please repent beloved people, in Lord Jesus Christ’s mighty and precious Name, Amen.

More expensive tho. My friend lived in Vancouver. Too expensive. He said that the price of a house out there is over a million bucks. Same house anywhere else in Canada is about 400k. Except for GTA.That gets you a beautiful 3 bedroom home with a backyard.

Good video, but Sienna can't compare an Asian country to Canada. I believe you about the slow service thing. This is because not everyone in Canada is connected to technology as Korea and Japan. My Aunt still has cable TV and no internet. If you goto west Africa, forget about it, they still doing a cash based system and no ATM, so it's slower. You need patience there

All her gripes was technology related. Korea and Japan are good at this. Not all countries have this. She was just too accustomed to Korea technology. She would not survive in West Africa long. No technology and no air conditioning there. Wi-Fi is not reliable

Yep, it's really normal for people to ask you personal questions in Canada, like "what's size of your @sshole", and no one will even bat an eye at you. Oh Canada, the place of maple leaves and white midnight glowing snow, oh and maple syrup too. Shocking that you think things are slow in Canada, try going to Jamaica, or anywhere in the Caribbean. You will see how super fast things are here in Canada (or normally fast). I think the speed you are looking for in Canada is unrealistic. I don't know how they manage to achieve that in Korea and who knows at what cost to the workers health and relaxation. I like your topics. Enjoying most of your videos so far.

What?!! I'm Canadian. It's absolutely *not* normal for people to ask personal questions here. It's normal to have small talk (weather, traffic, other general topics), but not ask things like what's the size of your @sshole. That's just ridiculous. I was surprised to hear about the service. Yes, it's relative slower compared to Korea, but you can easily set up appointments through a company's social media accounts. Live chat is almost universal now. But I am not surprised that the bank gave her a hard time to close her account. They can be annoying like that sometimes.
