Russell, please understand... the comedians being 'cancelled' back then were condemned for being progressive. The comedians these days who whine about cancel culture are doing so because they have been criticised (*not* cancelled) for being *regressive*. There is a huge difference.

Very true. There’s a big difference between Lenny Bruce and Mae West back then and the likes of Ricky Gervais and Rob Schneider. The same sort of people who were arresting Lenny Bruce and Mae West are the ones claiming persecution now.
