No Jackie had been dead when John started dating Carolyn. However, that wedding never would have taken place IF Jackie was still alive especially after that huge fight outside in Washington Square Park on Feb. 25, 1996 where Carolyn was shoving John calling him a ba-tard & it made TV on First Edition. I remember watching it. No way would Jackie have allowed John to marry her. Jackie liked her privacy and to hear & see Carolyn on TV shoving & name calling Jackie's only son that would have done it for Jackie. I even heard John's closest friends state IF Jackie was alive that marriage never would have taken place. I agree.

Quite interesting. A few thoughts: Supermodel Christy Turlington, husband Ed Burns and their kids have lived in that loft for a long time now. 2. You cannot understate how much Carolyn Bessette inspired the style of Carrie Bradshaw when Sex and The City began in 1998. Not as flamboyant but SJP was definitely channeling Carolyn in those early seasons. 3. Carolyn was formerly a "nightclub person" as mentioned; she retained some bad habits from that phase. I won't say more. 4. Even though your floorplan says "NORTH Moore Street", it's actually N ("EN") Moore Street- it's a mystery lost to time why the street is called that- it may have been someone 200+ years ago called Nathaniel Moore. No one knows! There's no Moore Street to be north of, and it's on the south side of the actual street. Anyway, good stuff. Thanks!

It was well known they had a tumultuous relationship at best. They fought constantly and were actually separated at the time of their deaths. She had actually gone back to the hunky model boyfriend briefly mentioned in this video. The weekend they died, her sister convinced them to go together to his cousin's wedding as to not take away from his cousin's big day, that is why her sister was with them in the crash.

@@CarolStJohn-ev9ryI agree I frankly thought the long term former girlfriend before actress Darryl Hannah was a better choice she was with him for a long time, seemed to get along well with his mother and sister and especially because she was a actress seemed at ease and comfortable with the press. I think John fell for the blonde and glamorous woman not really taking into account whether she had a qualities to handle being his wife. I think he would have realized his mistake and maybe went back to the former girlfriend. That happens a lot a guy gets caught up in the glamorous woman and dumps the not so exciting but stable girlfriend but realizes his mistake and goes back to the old girlfriend with a much better appreciation of her qualities.

I dined at the restaurant -street level- of that building years ago. Staff told me there is a “ Dumbwaiter” pulley structure that delivers cooked meals to the ninth floor tenants. So they order the food and voila ! It’s delivered via the pulley system. That’s a lovely perk to have. ( I believe Walkers was the name of the restaurant).😊

Yes that would have been lovely. Given the morbid fascination with John Jr's celebrity and way he passed, they were likely concerned with beefing up security at Arlington National Cemetery. We'll never know. Just glad Jackie wasn't around to see what became of John Jr passing so tragically, so sad. What a loss for the world, seemed like such a humble great guy. Horrible loss for the Besette family too, losing two daughters/sisters simultaneously. May they all rest.

@DaninVa-gt9nj Жыл бұрын
I agree. She was not beautiful at all but was slim and had a look. John could have had any woman for his wife. I wonder if he would have ever ran for POTUS. A lot was expected of him. A lot of pressure. You could see Jackie in the way he turned out. He was not the brightest student. Had to take lawyer exam several times. What a horrible way to pass. They had several moments of horror with death staring them in the face. Seems strange the way some Kennedys had the lives ended.

She was very pretty but her look was too minimalist for me. Too many all black outfits. A necklace or a pair of earrings (nothing gaudy - simple) once in awhile might have softened /enhanced the at times starkness/harshness of her look.

John wanted certain items from his mother's estate on Martha's Vineyard and was arguing about it with Caroline in the weeks before his death. They had already become quite estranged as Caroline disapproved of his wife Carolyn, now this. Why couldn't she just let him have the few things? She had plenty and he didn't ask for much or need much. She ended up inheriting everything including his estate. I wonder if, after his death, she looked at the items he wanted and it burned her.

Michael Jackson was in NYC filming the Wiz in the 1970s. He became acquainted with Caroline and John, Jr. Michael attempted to give Caroline a good night kiss, she withdrew, stating that 'My mother would have a fit if I were to let a black boy kiss me'.😱. It was said that Michael went back to his apartment and cried all night long. There is a bit of snobbishness to her. I wonder how does Caroline feel about her first born being a lesbian. Rose Schlossberg and her 'wife' live in California and operate a garden to table restaurant. I was surprised to find out that she and her husband, Ed Schlossberg , live separately.😱 John,Jr was overheard as saying that 'Caroline will be the last person to help you'.😱😱I hope it did indeed 'burn' her after he was gone. She knew that she could've let him have those items.

Read Carole Radziwill’s book “What Remains”. She was married to John’s first cousin and best friend Anthony (Jackie’s sister’s son). Anthony battled cancer for years and was dying when John and Carolyn perished, a few weeks before Anthony died. Gives insight into who they were in private and how they loved and supported Carole and Anthony through devastating times. Carolyn was wonderful. A true blessing. They were experiencing extreme grief and stress the summer they died as a result of this situation. Anyone who has experienced the devastation of a loved one suffering from cancer will understand what a difference it makes to have loving, supportive people surrounding you. Neither John nor Carolyn shied away from the horrors of what Anthony and Carole were living through. They showed up and cared for Anthony and Carole in the most remarkable ways. A lot of the reporting at the time blamed their distress that summer on marriage problems when the reality was they were watching John’s cousin and closest friend dying and were feeling grief, sadness, anger, stress, etc..
