I grew up going to the Cumberland falls i have been hundreds of times i was borne in Corbin Kentucky I used to swim above the falls when I was young but its not allowed any more ,,, its a very magical place in the world ,, when the Cumberland river floods it is much larger the river comes all the way up to the gift shop and its quite scary I used to go inside the caves when I was little boy and walk by my self down the river to the beach it is one of the most beautiful places on earth ,,,my heart is connected to Cumberland Falls ,,,I Love it ,,I feel its a part of my life.

These mean so much to me. The slow pace of filming and gentle music, and especially the warm smiles. Life can get pretty rough out there, and these nice videos help keep me glued together. You are doing more than travel logs here, you are doing soul therapy. :)

Very nice video and the commentary was great. I really enjoyed the film you put on KZbin, I really appreciate that you shared with the world. I’m from Mayfield, KY and the only time I’ve been to Cumberland Falls was when I was probably 8-years-old, which would have way back in 1967. Live in Nashville, TN now. So different from the photo my Mom has of the falls. You could see a rainbow from any vantage point, way back when. I have a good friend I graduated high school with whose family is from the area and said at night you can see a Moon-bow.

I took my 14 yo son there the other day. You had a great vista of the Falls. We had rain recently and the waterfall was so intense, you couldn’t see the literal falls due to the amount of mist. Best of luck to your channel!

Happy Birthday, Mindy!!!! Love this, it has been ages since I have been there... you can tell they need the rain, the water is not up in the wading pool up top... and that the flow was reduced to what it used to be, don't know if that is a normal thing now or not (like I said I have not been since before I got sick) . I could imagine living or camping on those cliffs with the falls in the background- oh man I bet you could sleep like crazy with that sound :)... There was another place we use to go, I think it was Pineville, KY to where they had a rock chained to keep it from breaking off the mountain. The nest thing about the hike over to it is there is one huge rock that looks like it has a human brain pattern to it. (I think it was Pineville? I could be very wrong though- it was a town that we saw them (years ago) constructing the wall around it to keep the river below from flooding the town. The crazy part is you would never imagine the water could get that high- but it has (scary stuff). I loved seeing this, makes me want to keep pushing and getting back out there!

Thank you Funeral host

The chained rock is indeed in Pineville and yes this is the falls at a very dry time of year. Sometimes it floods so much it just looks like a little hump in the river and it gets into the gift shop.

funny story about Cumberland falls... so when I was a young kid, around 4 or 5 years old, 1984/85 my family from northeast Tennessee went to Cumberland Falls. so that day i met my imaginary friend, pancho is what his name was. so back home in tennessee i played with pancho every day! i seen this guy, lol so i can still describe him. he was a burly lumber jack sortta fella. i remember his clothes looked really old he was late 20's i guess. crazy i know! so after a couple years the family went back to the falls and i played with pancho, keep in mind, at that time you could swim literally on the falls. so we get in the car to leave the park and i was crying , mom asked what was wrong and i told her pancho is gone, he went over the falls. i remember him smiling and waving as he was going over the falls. sometime i wonder if he could have been a ghost of someone that went over the falls.... any ways, thats a true story from my childhood, crazy i think
