hello you lovely people,in my latest adventure.
I joined the Paul (@Cumbrian lad outdoors) and Adam (@Adam in the Wild) on the 73 miles of the Cumbria Way.
Day one we started the journey at Ulverston and made it to Coniston. we managed a wild camp nearby.
Day two we woke up to rain and wet gear.
early on we found our paths flooded and unpassable.
When we got to stake pass we were hit with 40-50mph winds and heavy rain.
when we reached the top we were faced with the horror of a 5m-6m wide river.which we had to cross. but we had to throw our rucksacks over then we had to run and jump over.
we had to do this again several times.
Soaked to the bone, extremely cold, exhausted and pretty close to hypothermia.we reached the life saver Borrowdale YHA,where we managed to get out of soaking wet clothes and get sormething dry on.
we showered, got our gear dry, feed and able to sit by the fire to get warm.
We were mental and physical drained from the hike and thinking about what could of gone wrong.
After listening to advice from friends and family we decided to have a rest day to recuperate and get our gear and boots completely dry.
hope you enjoy part 1 and part 2 will be coming soon
please donate here to a great cause
