My final round-up compilation video of farming activities taking place this summer in Cumbria and a selection of the various machines working on the clamp face. First up is a Case-IH Puma 175, a very smart looking machine especially with the black painted wheels and Albutt buckrake and making a very neat job of rolling the clamp. Next up a JCB 419S loading shovel and huge MDE manufactured folding buckrake working under an indoor clamp.
Possibly the busiest pit area I visited this year had a pair of John Deere 6R.185 and Albutt rakes plus a Manitou MLT 630-115 telehandler working between two clamps, both indoor and outdoor types. A JCB TM320 telehandler has a nearly empty covered clamp to operate in but between them a NH T6050 and JD 6430 carting team will soon be filling up the shed. Finally a MF 390 and Twose buckrake works in the confines of an ind clamp which again after a few days will soon be much fuller!
This is my final compilation video of 2024 though there will be a couple more on a different theme posted in the new year. Despite the slightly iffy weather of this season I’ve enjoyed filming whenever I’ve had the chance and as always a big thank you to the owners for allowing me to film their wonderful machinery and of course to all of you who have watched, liked and taken the time to comment on my videos throughout the year.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and wish you all the very best for 2025 when I hope to bring you more action fr the fields of Cumbria with hopefully some new locations and machinery to film on my travels.
All the best, David.
Filmed in Cumbria May-June 2024.

Good evening David, and what a lovely fast moving video to round off the year. I had just came back in from hand delivering some Christmas cards round my neighbours and was frozen to the core, when I popped on your new video and seeing all the very green lush grass really made me want spring 2025 to be here. Made me think, especially for some of the younger guys working today, if they realise how lucky they are with such well powered tractors and good sized buck rakes and not the MF135s with tiny, in comparison buck rakes of our day. All the kit shown was really capable of doing the job, although I do have a liking for all JCB products. Having said that, and I am sure you know what’s coming, that good old MF390 with no cab, sure was making a mighty fine job of building that clamp and could climb the face with no issues. Well as the year-end nears David, I would also like to echo your gratitude, and say a big thank you to all the owners that allowed you to film on their farms which gave us the delight of such outstanding equipment. I would also like to say, and I am sure all your followers would agree, a massive thank you to you David, for bringing us such high-quality content, in a manner which concentrates on the tractors and equipment in beautiful surroundings doing what they do best, and that is working. Wishing you and Anna a Merry Christmas and may 2025 be a year of joy. (and more videos of course). Thanks for everything David. Cheers, Fraser.

@@frasermathers2287 And a very good evening to you Fraser and I hope you are well. Yes a fast moving video to conclude the year, almost as fast as Christmas is approaching! Sounds like you’ve had a busy afternoon, yes cold but better than the rain but keeps you active and just think how much you’ve saved on stamps! Ah yes doesn’t this year’s summer and those green fields seem so long ago, roll on Spring 2025! Yes not exactly an easy life but certainly a lot more output and comfort compared to the likes of those MF 135s with proper air-con (either doors off or the cab removed all together) and an old tin seat with straw filled fertiliser for comfort if you were lucky (I well remember those sore bum days!) Yes all capable machines, the JCBs especially the 419S are very impressive but the MF 390 is also a great outfit, plenty of pushing power for 80hp and very manoeuvrable in the confines of the closed pit. Yes a huge thanks for all the owners for kindly letting me film and post their wonderful machinery working on the land, they’re a very friendly bunch and I know from talking to them they love to see their equipment on film and to hear enthusiasts such as yourself complimenting them on its condition. Fingers crossed next year I’ve some new pastures and machines to visit, hopefully all going well I’ll be there to capture the action on film. Ah many thanks Fraser, your kind words make it all worthwhile, I love being out in the countryside anyways but it’s nice to capture that moment in time and for it to be appreciated by the likes of both you and other fellow farming enthusiasts. I’m sure we will have a nice Christmas as I hope you have too my friend and here’s to 2025 and hopefully a good spring/ summer season to get out in those fields. Take care Fraser and all the best. Cheers, David.

Nice video,Christmas greeting from Co.Antrim. Are the outside clamps earth banked?Work best if done with heavy clay, far better than straight walls outside, can let the rain run off the side.Had walls on my outside clamps but bothered with rain damage down walls creating waste. Needed a fortune spent them so went to all bales. At my stage in life not justified making big investment required to put up covered silos, lot round here moving towards covered silos outside clamps be more used for bales. Why do the inside silos cover walls with plastic,no rainwater to worry about!Perhaps to save walls from acid of silage?

@@Magpie6639 Thanks Mark and Christmas greetings from Cumbria to you. A lot of good points there, I’m sure the clamp walls are earth banked and not concrete which as you say are prone to rain damage therefore contaminating the crop hence that’s why you saved yourself the waste and made the move to wrapped bale silage. A lot of money involved in constructing new buildings especially with rising costs elsewhere but most in my area seem to have undercover clamps. I think you’re correct on the inside walls being plastic lined, more than likely it’s to avoid effluent damage which over time will seep into cracks in the walls. All the best to you for 2025 Mark, hope to hear from you in the new year. Cheers, David.
