Olá, se você puder me informar o número de série do seu motor, posso tentar dar uma olhada no código de falha para você. se bem me lembro, não há código de falha 02344 para o motor ISF2.8, o código de falha pode ser 0234, que é um problema com os sensores ou fiação da árvore de cames ou do virabrequim.

Nice video. what's your opinion on the reliability of this engine? I have seen mixed reviews online. Planning to buy a Foton that comes with it.

Hey, i can't really comment on the reliability of the engines as far as vehicle use goes, as a test engine they have been pretty bombproof really and they get some quite aggressive running both inside and outside of the recommended duty cycle, we keep them well serviced and look after them well. As with any engine you are always going to find mixed opinions but from my experience with these little engines i'd quite happily have one in a truck.

Hi James. I have the foton tunland and have the same engine, I have oil leak from back of the engine where is the timing chains. But bot sure if it's from the cover or it is more into it? Any idia please. Regard

Can you please upload the video that's not on time-lapse please our son is trying to redo his head and there is no timing marks on the timing cog that attaches to the camshaft

Hey Melanie, I recorded the video only in time lapse so don't have a 'normal speed' version I'm afraid. If it's the ISF 2.8/R2.8 he's rebuilding then there is a locking plate that goes in the end of the camshaft where the vacuum pump attaches. DM me and I can forward pictures of the tool or procedure for you to look at

You are damn right, I also messed up the cam gear housingand tensioner routine and didn't clean the head mating faces correctly too if your being picky, however the engine is used as a training tool to strip down and discuss and learn about components and how they interact with each other, the engine will never run and is stripped down very frequently so no sealant is applied to make disassembly easier. I certainly did, though the extra oil allows people not quite as experienced as yourself to more easily disassemble the parts and understand the importance of lubrication of components when spannering the engine over to see cam and crank interaction.
