Thank you for watching this repeat video. I'm glad, and grateful to all of you that have been following me on both of my channels. The Man with Two Watches has been a secondary hobby of mine for years and I often question the effectiveness, productivity, and purpose of having two channels about gadgets. Alas, it is fun to maintain another website that is focused primary on wearables (smart watches & rings) and not about food reviews, travel, how-to-fix videos around the house, and random other topics. I initially wanted to do one weekly video about my favorite two watches of that particular week. And yet I have issues wearing the same two watches for 7 days & 7 Nights. Yes, that is a topic for another video & vlog... www.youtube.com/@TheManWithTwoWatches/videos

I have an Amazfit Cheetah Pro, bought for 230€. 20 days battery life with hrm, sleep monitoring, steps. I tuned a bit up from 14 days originally (5min hrm). Great watch. I wear it now instead of my Garmin Fenix 6X Solar pro.

Excellent comment and yes, I wore the Cheetah Pr for my morning workout. I negotiated, okay, traded, my Amazfit Balance for some customized, one-of-a-kind, headphones... And yeah, that video will be coming out sometime in the next 88 days or sooner 😹

Love my amazfit balance (just over 10 days battery life with always on display). Never going back to a Google wear watch anytime soon. By the way some people ask what the screen is made of and it's crystal. As a luxury watch collector you can tell by the reflection of light onto third party surfaces.
@PeterHerget5 ай бұрын
Yes, the Amazfit Balance is one of my favorite wearables. Alas, I traded mine for a pair of customized headphones from an Audiologist here in Utah. Yes, there will be a video about the headphones and the Sound Doctor is a friend of mine that has helped test gadgets over the past decade. As for the material of the screen Amazfit chose, all they said was it was "tempered glass" and sometype of crystal. After nearly one year of almost daily wear, nope, no major scratches yet. And your 10 days of battery life is fabulous news to read. I averaged around 7 to 9 days if I wasn't doing too many outdoor GPS workouts. Very happy they chose to boost the screen brightness to 1,500 nits. I do hope they release a Balance 2.0 later in 2024 and the battery size goes from 475 mAh up to 525 mAh with 2,000 nits of brightness. I would also like to see Amazfit incorporate a full-button navigation for Zepp OS 4.0 🤞 Battery Life specs from their website: 5 Days AOD Mode 14 Days Typical Usage 25 Days Battery Saver Mode

Again a nice video. Peter, I actually returned my OnePlus watch 2 and kept my balance. You do know that you can actually set the balance to where the screen doesn't come on at night at all because I'm kind of wondering why you put it in theater mode? And it would be nice if the balance tracked snoring as well.
@PeterHerget5 ай бұрын
Thank you and glad you thought my silly video was nice 😁You chose... wisely! The OnePlus 2.0 is just okay for the less $$$ you can sport an Amazfit Balance, T-Rex 2, or a slightly used Cheetah Pro. Is an Amazfit timepiece better than the OP2? Yes, yes they are and Amazfit watches are smarter and more accurate than any OnePlus will release over the next 11 months. Amazfit is years ahead and cares more about quality than OnePlus.
@johnmossjr18985 ай бұрын
@@PeterHerget I think the snore detection is something Amazfit needs. Also I would love to see more step goal animations and maybe a highest step count page.

Actually you can enable a ”button mode” in settings 🎉 have the balance right now and is really pleased but i keep on wondering if i’m missing out on something compared to fenix 7 or Epix? Whats your honest opinion? Cheers from Sweden! 🥳
@uiflorin5 ай бұрын
@@davidnydahl4733 Basically you miss NFC payments. AMOLED is present, you will not miss the MIP LCD from Garmin. A bit more apps and widgets that can eat a lot more. Notifications, weather, music, maps (google), etc, it's present in the same way. You save 700€. I'm not advertising Amazfit, I'm just impressed by the level of technology and refinement the Chinese have achieved in a short time. Forget Wear OS devices, they are a scam. Too much useless functionality is transferred to the watch, too much burden on a 400-500mAh battery. It's a conceptual wrong path. Garmin is obscenely expensive, safire and shit, like its a jewelry. In 4 years is obsolete, so if I need to retire a device, I would prefer to retire a cheap one, not a 800-1000$/€ one.

Is the Balance screen scratch-proof? Do you use a screen protector on it?
@PeterHerget2 ай бұрын
The Amazfit Balance screen is pretty tough, but nah, it is not sapphire. I wore it for nearly a year before gifting it to a friend. And he's been wearing for nearly two months daily - still, no major scratches. I dislike screen protectors and tried on a Suunto watch about three years ago, and took it off after 77 hours.

Would you choose the Balance over the Cheetah Pro? I've never had a smart watch before, would I miss the call feature if I got the regular cheetah? I'm basically looking for a watch that's good for cycling and every day use with a decent implementation of maps.
