I honestly think I've listened to this interview (both parts) about 3 or 4 times now.

Gold. Proper gold. Ron helped make some of the best and probably most under rated tunes as Jack Smooth Earl Grey Fast Floor etc and arguably one of the influential (to me definitely) Jungle/Drum and Bass labels in Basement Recordings ❤ and it’s interesting to hear the technology changes which I agree with because the kit back then was not easy to use like todays DAWs that come with tonnes of samples trimmed and in key, BPM matched etc. Back then it was all done by hand on a tiny screen two inches wide. However I think that ‘sound’ from back then has been lost as newer tunes don’t seem to have that dynamic sound of mid to late 90s Drum and Bass. Personally I was buying old rack samplers 10 years ago when no one wanted them, I have 6. EMU, Akai, Roland and Ensoniq and they’re all very different but amazing. Interesting name-checking the great Trevor Horn, one of my influences. Ps, that was me that wrote the entry on Discogs….😅

Absolutely LOVED this interview. Ron comes across really well, like a really sound geezer that has found his inner peace. I could easily have listened to another 3 hours. A Mark Ryder interview would be great too!

Quality. I gotta say, the first podcast of considerable length I've listened to from start to finish for longer than I can remember. Both parts 1 & 2. Will be working my way through the others. Top work 👍
