❤️ brilliant interview so humble still can tell it’s all still raw and how close he was to Jamie his shyness and then as he got into it he opened up, but left you gripped to, loved hearing how proud he was at digging the rare stuff out and digging that bit deeper loved him talking about topbuzz, the stories to, personally he’s been one of my number 1 idols always spoke to me when out, and from the start approachable, unlike a few out there, David you legend I know you see your self as just someone who put tunes on but your more than that to a lot of us - hope he sees how much he meant to us one day

Well said Brother. Best thing about Ratty is his outlook and attitude. In the dj box he's a mixing titan but you would never find any arrogance or hubris when he talks. He's Boss. He's always been the most entertaining. He'd be the reason I'd go to raves. Him Jamie & Alesa the Fibre Optic Crew. Such great times. Ratty is like your fave player in a football team. The maverick. The one you go to see who gets you up off your seat. Absolutely love this man👍

So glad you've done this, thank you both. Ratty is a dj and producer legend, but after 30+ years, we can also see what a great chap he is. Humbleness is lost on modern leading djs, sadly. What times the 90s were. A question I'd want to ask Ratty - he did a couple of techno sets. Obsessed and somewhere else- maybe Kinetic. Is that a sound he was actively into? A step away from the 4/4 break beat. Would he have wanted to carry on in that style if events had carried on in that direction?

One of the first influences for me to get a set of cheap as fook belt drives whenI was 13 yr old back in 93. I based my mixing style on ratty to this day, the only DJ back then that used to crossfade chop-chop mixes. It inspired me to pursue djing into turntablism. I'd love to go B2B with the Rat so I could trainspot like back in 93. It's item 3 on my bucket list after cuddle a tiger and walk on a fire.. Reeespeck RATTY, an OG jungle-techno don!! PS: I was probably one of those fans in Wales that wanted ur autograph (Eternal Crew Raves).. This interview is a window into the rave culture back then that Gen Z are totally unaware of, it's like hippie parents pushing jefferson airplane or pink floyd on us as kids trying to make us understand how awesome it is. Bigup for this sorting this interview guys, totally made my day.. . Luvz X

That's mad cos I've recently become obsessed with "Final Conflict" Tango(rip) and Ratty Remix. 31 fucking years later!!! Its just a rude boy bassline. Ratty is a demon in the mix. I was young in 93-94 13/14 years old. But, I was besotted with Hardcore when i saw the Hit man and her one night at the Eclipse in cov. Always thought Ratty was best when [ i believe] he was off his nut. You could tell he was on one because the mixes were psycho. My favourite Set of his though was a Formation Records rave in Skegness i believe. 96 absolute masterclass in Djing to me. Wicked guy. So integral to the scene as a Dj and Producer.
