THE TRAGIC FALL OF THE PODIUM SIGN 13:08 - School President Carol Mason opens ceremony, sign is already in a precarious state and is slightly askew. 16:19 - Sign is showing evidence of give to gravity and to the painters tape used to adhere it to podium. 19:40 - Dean Andrew Sidman takes podium. The sign is now on an unavoidable path. 19:52 - The sign's top right corner begins to drop while slowly exposing more of the tape behind it. 20:14 - Structural integrity of the tape is now failing as a solid strip of blue can be seen atop the sign's head. 23:32 - Dean Sidman's uplifting words cannot stop what is to come. Each corner is now parallel with the other. 23:45 - Dr. Ashwin Vasan take the podium. Sign corners are still parallel. 24:24 - Sign is showing more give as just above the letter "O" in John, one can now see brown coloring from the podium. 28:16 - THE DESCENT ESCALATES - Right top corner begins to fall faster. 30:37 - More of the podium is exposed behind the sign. 33:05 - Left corner is giving it all she's got, Captain! 33:52 - Left corner begins losing grip. 35:30 - Presenter takes podium. 38:09 - The end is nigh. 38:25 - Left corner has done what it could. 39:10 - Like the RMS Titanic, the bow sinks as the stern rises. 39:44 - TIPPING POINT! - The sign's left corner is now briefly flush with the blue tape that's keeping it from falling. A sign of what's to come. 39:52 - THE FALL - After a long struggle to hold strong, the sign crashes to the ground and interrupts the ceremony for a few solemn seconds. 40:09 - President Mason salvages what's left of the sign's dignity and places it at the base of the podium facing the room. 40:12 - A baffled tech walks on stage despite there being a live ceremony in progress and assess the poorly done job before him. He removes two pieces of duct tape and walks off sadly. 1:25:20 - After a long period of Hoodings, we see a now bare podium. There is no sign of the sign's struggle or its mission. Congratulations, class of 2024. May your futures fare better than that of the podium sign.
