I am a big fan of the whole Cuomo family. I may be Irish, but this is an Italian family I love. Mario was governor during a critical time in New York's history -- Summer of '77, Son of Sam, Damn Yankees, massive unemployment -- and I think he was well-loved. Andrew is carrying on in another crisis in much the same way. And Chris, God bless him, he has become my favorite news host. He may have a heated debate with someone, but (before the virus) he always ended his in-person interviews with a handshake and an invitation to return to his show. Just noble. Andrew Cuomo 2024.

Every day, and at night I pray for you and your family. Chris, you are a passionate, strongly opinionated and often very abrasive guy on TV, but now, since you have been ill, I see your humanity, your vulnerability, and above all, your concern, not for yourself, but for your family and others. I can see that it tears at your heart to think that any one of your family members could become ill. It tears at my heart too, so I pray. The governor does not love your home state, only its top $100 millionaires. Even now, despite it being the COVID-19 epicenter in the USA and desperate for aid to hospitals, healthcare workers and medically underinsured victims, he refuses to approve an emergency pandemic surtax on those multimillionaires, and insists on cutting $2.5 billion to Medicaid--and so losing $6.7 billion in federal aid to such NYS hospitals that lack beds and ventilators, healthcare workers, and coronavirus patients and yet untested infectees in the NY population.
