We already have way too many crimes on our hand, why import more? Since you're a smart dude, you intentionally leave out one crucial point: no one forces them to come to work on the farms. They come because they earn a lot more than at home. That's the basic tenet of barter/trade (both sides benefit). That's the reason why rich countries have guest worker programs. Back in the 70s, 80s, migrant farm workers came here, did their job, and went home. Nobody cared about the border. Now, criminals also come. And stay here permanently! That's where the problem is.

Can someone explain to me how undocumented migrants pay taxes? Are they referring to sales tax on goods and services? I’m not sure how they’d pay income tax.

I can explain it for you. Illegal immigrants are granted what is called an ITIN number by the IRS so they can file their taxes every year. It’s a number very similar to a social security number but they can only use it to pay their yearly income taxes.

@@edithr1031 If you work at any restaurant you will know a lot of them work for cash. They aren't paying tax and at the same time driving down the wages for teenagers or young adults trying to get their first jobs. In the 80s I worked as a dishwasher, as one of my first jobs. It provided great motivation to get a college degree. I think all of our teens should be working. It builds character and if they work they don't have time to get in trouble during the summer months. Letting illegal immigrants take over those jobs doesn't build a better nation.

In the first place they don’t pay taxes, because they don’t have social security number. Secondly, I suggest that if you entered illegally, but don’t commit any crime even as small as a traffic violation, then you can have a path to legal immigration with the caveat that you can’t apply for U.S. citizenship in 20 years. That will ensure your loyalty to our country and democrats can’t use them as pawns for future elections. That’s a high price to pay, but I think it is fair.

I’m curious how much money taxpayers spend on illegal aliens through government programs like healthcare, snap, etc. Is it more than what illegal immigrants pay in? Also, in healthcare in private sectors in terms of indigent care which will obviously be passed on the paying consumers. Something to consider, but obviously not accounted for.
