Chris, thankfully you and News Nation are inching towards a, not Centrist, but an agnostic approach to reporting. I was a Marine Corps Intelligence Specialist/Operations Chief and my role was to process information into Intelligence; meaning analyzed information. I was trained to remove biases as much as humanly possible when assessing a situation or person, and further educate myself on their culture, etc., and then provide the status and analysis without passion. Think Jack Ryan on Red October briefing the National Security Advisor. I'd say, think of yourselves as the National Security Advisor for the People, not politicians and analyze and deliver the intelligence to us without personal biases. It can be done.

I would not judge anybody's convictions during covid. Yes some of those conviction may have helped some big companies to make a lot of money, but at the time it was 50 :50 what to believe or not to believe. Glad you brought this issue, but little late isn’t it? One of the worst cases I remember was during the Trump 2016-20 period. He went to one of those big tornados affected areas - not sure if was MO or KS. Trump said (or better repeated) the exact same thing that ALL presidents say: “the federal gov will assist, we pray for the victims and families, we will work with local authorities…etc. I’m talking, NOTHING out of the ordinary. The next day the NYT (arch enemy of DJT) in the first page REPORTED about Trumps visit and quoted the exact words he said. The NYT still had the professionalism of REPORTING word by word what he said, simply stating the news. This wasn’t opinion. BUT THAT action, a normal one for any newspaper, was enough to get their staff up and in arms and DEMAND NYT to remove the news from the front page because ….get this…not only was this “normalizing” Trump but “humanizing” him. That’s how bad this whole TDS is.
