This one you should have displayed on an actual chart. I don’t think beginners will recognize what it actually looks like on a chart from this example. Generally you have a high, followed by a rounding bottom, then a retest of that high, followed by consolidation “sideways” then the move up. This can form over a long period of time but I think more attention should be made on the consolation part because that’s where the magic happens.

How do you get the MACD to show up like that? Is there a particular script on TOS?

Ross uses the default MACD settings: 12 fast, 26 slow length, 9 smoothing (12,26,9). This is using the Simple Moving average. When displaying the indicator, Ross likes to display the fast and slow lines as a histogram. Every platform might be slightly different in how this is added or edited. Please contact your platform provider if you have issues with this.
