That "featuring Jessi Combs" hits really different now. I remember when I was a kid, I was kinda sad to not see Kari in these episodes. Then a couple of years later I found out about Jessi when she broke the land speed class record the second time, not knowing she was the same one from Mythbusters. And I really started to admire her, because she was absolutely badass. Then when she had the accident I remember feeling it, and started searching a bit more about her, and found out she was this girl from mythbusters I never noticed almost, or didn't like. And this completely recontextualize all these episodes where she appears in, to me. She literally broke a damn world record 3 times. She is a perfect example of the insanely capable people that was involved with this show.

12:16 brings back some memories. I used to work at National Instruments manufacturing. The 9234 was an infamous bastard. Getting those external coaxial connectors mounted to the PCB was an exercise in patience because we did it on the surface mounted assembly lines, but the mechanical support/ground leads had to go through holes, and none of the suppliers could be assed to make those leads within the tolerance required by the PCB. We ended up enlarging the holes by a factor of about 1.5 and mounting the connectors manually.
