First of all Kendyll. I may have tears in my eyes. You are absolutely incredible! These look amazing and I'm so honoured you love my work. I love this illustration so much! The level of detail is mind blowing. I lost my collective s### when you added the powdered sugar to the Victoria sponge cupcake haha. All I can say is Thankyou! :0) x

Thank you, Nick!!! I am SO happy to hear that you like how the piece turned out!! It was easy to put in the detail when working from your cupcakes, which are so beautiful, and beautifully styled/photographed to begin with. One of my favorite recent projects! Thank you again for letting me draw these lovelies!!

I loves your illustrations and videos! They've inspired me to start drawing again, thank you! We'll be visiting Boston for the first time next month, super excited!

Thanks so much, Tamra! I'm so happy to hear you're feeling inspired to draw again - keep it up!! And that's so cool that you're coming to Boston. Fall is a great time to visit - it's a beautiful city. If you like bakeries, be sure to visit Flour Bakery (there are a couple locations). It's my favorite in the city and everything there is delicious! Enjoy your trip! :)

What a beautiful , thank you for sharing! You said that using the solvent in certain parts ... how to define which parts ? And a request for next video , I'm thinking it would be beautiful to see vegetables such as eggplant, and others! Thanks.
@KendyllHillegas8 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! I only used solvent on the parts that I wanted to have a smooth look (like the frosting or the wrapper). And thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely draw more veggies in the future. :)

Wow, those cupcakes look amazing! If you are doing that Q&A would you mind explaining how you define or determine the different values of color... Also, for video ideas, I do not have anything original but I loved your vlogging week, I now it is a lot of work but it does not need to be a video a day, just one video would be awesome, specially if you feature some yummy pastries at the end ;)
@KendyllHillegas8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Zuri! I'll definitely talk about value in color in the Q&A - thanks for the good question! :) And I so good to know about the vlogs - i'm planning to do more of those on an individual, ongoing basis, and will try to do another 1-week series again soon (featuring lots of pastries, of course)!

Hi Kendyll! Love your wonderful explanations! I was curious where you would suggest getting shipping supplies for Etsy orders? I worry about my art getting damaged in the mail
@KendyllHillegas8 жыл бұрын
Hi Elyska! I'm so glad to hear you liked the video! :) I recommend Amazon for shipping supplies - if you watch my Etsy shop video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXW7fJyeiriEnMU) I talk a bit about packaging, and link to a few of the materials I use in the description box. Since using them, I haven't had any prints get damaged! :)

What camera do you use for taking photos of your products on your shop?
@KendyllHillegas8 жыл бұрын
The camera I use for videos and work in progress shots is a Nikon (linked in the description). For shop products, I use a scanner, which you can find on my FAQ page: kendyllhillegas.com/faq. :)

Amazing work! (those cupcakes made me hungry haha). Everytime I try to record a short video, well.. it ends up being a 20 minutes video. :'D
@KendyllHillegas8 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Angy! I try to think through what I want to say beforehand which helps me keep it shorter. When I go totally off the cuff, I usually end up around 20 minutes too. :)
