I really like these short videos that explain everything and you don't have to rewind. this simply needs to get more views, because it's short and clear

Very interesting video Zac, thank you! Just recently I noticed on a video that I lift weight through the bend of my spine. Great advice, and most importantly on time!

Wow, I needed this. I do use my spine and it def screws w/my back/knees, well all over the lower body. I will really try to practice your way. Thx for the tips!

Hi Zac, for someone who arches the back on a hinge rather than bringing the chest down, are there other exercises/positions you would use to help teach them this coordinated action of torso and pelvis?
@ZacCupplesPT Жыл бұрын
Usually in this case you have to go after posterior expansion to get the change unless you can run through the coaching cues. Think the posterior upper pelvis and posterior lower thorax presentation

so confused abou this move, what helped me today in shower, is doing deadlift in mini lunge, like the warrior 1 poisiton in yoga, i can hinge with one leg forward of the other then feel the good squeeze in back leg on way up but i cannot feel glutes with both legs in parallel. Why?

What's good Big Z, i have a question that is rather off topic. Since reaching 60-120° would promote anterior expansion AND if we reach with trunk rotation we also create anterior expansion on the side of the reaching arm, would it make sense to always reach above 60° with the reaching arm when we perform a let's say bench supported one arm row? In which the supporting arm would be placed in a above 60° angle?
@neinbruderja75192 жыл бұрын
Of course given the fact that I'd maintain the stacc during the rotation. Otherwise, this comment section wouldn't be enabled for me.

I really need to talk to YT about adding this feature LOL

Great Q. It depends on what you are going for. A 60 reach could drive ipsilateral rotation, which a row could help drive a turn to the support arm

I hip hinge all day because I have horrible disc issues. The best mental trick I've found for hip hinging is to think of closing an open drawer with your buttocks. Hope that helps someone!
