VZ2 245 on the way and Im pleased to see I made a good decision, I hope with the VZ2 dynamic chassis, extra grunt and other additions it would drive as crisply as the BMW you compare it to.

@@TotallyEV Firstly i wanted PHEV for sure as it saves me net £1500 in Company car BIK compared to my current Skoda Superb Diesel. So that ruled out conventional engines. Then, styling, performance and the VZ2 having basically all extras in the package which of course would have brought most VAG and BMW 'similars' up and over its price. Thats the practical, the personal? it's just different, I love the 'whats that' factor. What a looker too.

@@swapnilcorreia it's not to bad at all, providing you have it charged. I average 68mpg on journeys up to 100mile round trip. And then about 55mpg once the battery runs flat. If I don't charge it at all it averages 40mpg The most I have got from a full charge is 33miles but the weather is still warming up (Uk) the worst max charge is 22mile (terrible)

We tried launching the e-Hybrid and all we got was wheel spin, haha! At least from what we're aware, there's no launch control nor Cupra mode (at least it wasn't fitted on our model).

Do you think that maybe touch screen is a problem because you are using it with left hand (i assume non dominant hand)? I am always curious how drivers from left driving countries experience vehicle differently, better or worse?

@@TotallyEV I have my eye on this car and I've seen at least 50 yt videos and I've noticed that UK youtubers strongly complaint about touch screen. It could be a great scientific paper :D

It’s not easy if you are right handed of course but not that much bad as you imagine. rather than the infotainment system the main problem is the sliders underneath. Not easy to slide while driving, it’s even worse during night due to the missing backlit with the left hand :)

@@berks.218 I eventually bought it, and there is no issue with those sliders. Of course, in the beginning it was really annoying, but brain gets used to it quite easily

For what the Formentor E-Hybrid is, which is amazing by the way, Imagine getting to a point where the drained battery mileage of 40 MPG is seen as a flaw? Most standard petrol cars out today cannot attain 40 MPG without hybrid tech. And as for the battery charging goes, excessive fast charging can degrade the battery faster. The charge speed Cupra has here should be better for battery health.

Was V2 indeed, but oddly no electric tailgate. If we're not mistaken it should be included in the V2 as standard.

@@TotallyEV it used to be standard on the V2. This has changed this year and they now offer it as an optional extra which is disappointing 🤦🏽‍♂️

The rental I got for a weekend a few weeks back was one of these, but the 245hp one. My main complaint would be how you need to browse around the entertainment system to set things up. Impossible to adjust while driving. Since I was going to be mostly on long hauls on motorways, I had set the ACC up to adapt according to speed limits... What I wasn't aware of was that the ACC would not only adjust down, but also up. And if there's no cars in front of you after a stretch with a 80 km/h going back to the DK regular 130 km/h motorway speed. The ACC will basically shift down floor the pedal until 130 km/h has been reached, as if it was overtaking... Very aggressive approach in my opinion. Also when the speed limit goes down, the ACC doesn't hit the brakes until the sign is right at its front wheels, that can, in theory, land you a speeding ticket here in Denmark. On the other hand, it's sense of speed was very exact, you know those flashy "your speed" display signs that they often place at the beginning of a "slow zone", it hit the exact allowed speed every single time. At first I was very surprised, but it's not that difficult to adapt to, once you get to know how it behaves... But if you set your ACC distance to very long, and you encounter one of those idiots that prefer to zigzag through traffic, by overtaking the wrong way around, you're in the middle most lane on the motorway limited by the car in front of you. But the one in front of you is not an asshole, so he or she makes space once they're past the slower vehicle. The ACC floors the pedal, as usual, much to annoyance of the BMW driver, trying to overtake you on the wrong side, who saw the huge gap in front of you... This car takes off like a jet, basically boxing the idiot. I had a couple of incidents where the driver got annoyed enough to try brake-test me... Unfortunately, for him, the ACC is also very good at sensing that. In the end I just set the ACC distance shorter, because it gets annoying to have a car that wants to race the idiots, when I just wanted a calm long haul cruise. So, in conclusion, this car needs a cruise don't race mode for the ACC, and it should be easier to change between modes; because sometimes you just encounter an idiot while driving, then you don't have time to browse around the entertainment system to change settings. Give me a few more physical knobs and buttons that are easy to understand, I do not like capacitive buttons while driving, I'm supposed to keep an eye on the road.

Haha yes, don't think ACC is meant for racing - we often set ours to 'close' or 'very close' for that reason; not racing, but people swerving in-and-out of traffic. Unfortunately, many other vehicles suffer from the same issue of not being very easy to adjust as they've often got rid of the stalk; but you should be able to do so from memory via the steering wheel. Totally in agreement about the capacitative buttons!

@@TotallyEV I don't mind adjusting the speed and distance from proper buttons on the steering wheel, once you know how they work, it's not difficult. Besides, I'd not enable and disable the Cruise Control on small swerving roads anyway. But for instance, this particular car has 3 modes; preserve battery (fuel first), optimal range (mixed sources for longer range) and EV (electric only)... If you live in the countryside and your destination is inside a strict green zone. It would be nice to be able to run preserve until the edge of the city, then switch to EV. But doing that in this hybrid, you need to take a 3 minute break somewhere to go browsing through the system. Many other plugin hybrids have a dedicated EV button, unfortunately they often lack a preserve battery button. So after a longer run, you don't have battery to run as EV anyway.

Such a shame the Plug in model sacrifices so much boot space compared to non hybrid losing over 80 litres capacity ending up with a smaller boot than a Golf hatchback. A deal breaker for a family. The infotainment is also really dangerous to use on the move.

Just got one of these in a couple of weeks ago, April 2024, Scratched on arrival, 12v power point has no power, passenger air vent not working, would NOT recommend, trying to return.

Style over substance. I have the V2 hybrid as a company car. It’s quick. But I’m getting only 40mpg, the tank is very small so I have to fill up almost every day now. The boot is very very small. It’s full of gadgets. But there’s too many distractions inside for me. Looks good, but who cares when you’re inside? I would not spend 42 thousand pounds on it. Loud road noise inside too.

Comparing this to a BMW is a absolutely redundant; BMW driving dynamics are a cut above the whole competition. The Formentor is a decent proposition, but I’d rather wait another 6- months for their irrepressible all-electric SUV coupe; *CUPRA Tavascan💥⚡️🔌!*

Very poor car awful customer care join the Cupra group and read about the battery charging issues be warned !!! 7 days I've been unable to I charge mine the dealer says they don't have a vehicle tec to look at the issue

@@TotallyEV I’ve been told by the main Dealer @ East Grinstead that they haven’t got an EV technician to look at the car and that they are inable to give me a temporary replacement vehicle as they don’t have any vehicle and basically they haven’t returned emails or phone calls Rest assured if it not sorted by the coming weekend they will not be selling any vehicles from their showroom this coming weekend

The X2 is not a good car. It's jittery, noisy and bumpy. Overpriced and poor depreciation. The X1 is far superior.
