i hate to be "that guy" but the reason for that is because the show is mainly improv. the scripts aren't really scripts - they're loosely written outlines of what's supposed to happen in the scenes, what specific plot points need to be brought up, etc. from there the actors pretty much just say whatever they want, there's very little scripted dialogue. that's why most conversations feel real, and a lot of the time if an actor is laughing, they're probably laughing irl

Having dedicated far too many hours of my life to watching this show, I have come to the conclusion that Larry has never been wrong.
@JohnnyNatrium3 жыл бұрын
He was wrong on this one. Unfortunately Jason failed to explicitly argue that Larry was the one who carries responsibility for their meeting basically being cancelled last minute, whilst doubly inconveniencing Jason by still taking up a portion of the appointed time just to explain that the meeting was going to have to be postponed. Larry failed to uphold his end of the commitment for the appointment, even though there may have been bad luck involved. Jason meanwhile acted according to their arrangement in every way and it's in fact kind of insulting to suggest he drives over to Larry's office later, thus not only missing his appointment last minute, but also trying then to change the appointment to something more suitable to him, whilst just having wasted Jason's time.
@happyfase3 жыл бұрын
@@JohnnyNatrium you present a cogent argument. I concede
@anthonysteen563 жыл бұрын
@@JohnnyNatrium so when do anticipate making partner?
@etamommy3 жыл бұрын
@@JohnnyNatrium The argument is only cogent if you gloss over the fact that in the beginning Larry did not want to go there but reluctantly agreed to. This changes things. Larry did most of the chore part of it- the driving-but due to unfortunate circumstances could not continue to meet. Jason's just casually assuming once again that Larry will come to his house the next day is arrogant and presumptuous. By circumstances outside of Larry's control and outside of Jason's control, the one meeting, has had to become two meetings...one meeting about the meeting and one meeting to discuss the plans for the project. Thus, the second meeting must fairly be allowed to be at Larry's since that is what he prefers. Once again Larry is correct.
@JohnnyNatrium3 жыл бұрын
@@etamommy Reluctantly agreeing to an appointment does not in any way change your responsibility to uphold your end of said appointment. He was never forced to make this appointment; he made this decision. This discussion that they're having at Jason's place, is not turning it into two separate appointments. It's going over to the person you had an appointment with - them having made the agreed upon time for you - to tell them that you can't have this appointment now and also want to change the appointment. Larry could've just called Jason to tell him the meeting had to be postponed. The fact that he went over there anyway, actually making things more inconvenient for the both of them, was his dumb choice because it served no purpose but to try and persuade Jason into driving over to his place, because he just drove over to Jason's. Larry David was absolutely wrong and I hope you don't shirk responsibilities about appointments like this in real life, because it's gonna cost ya a few bucks down the line.

Some cameras are aimed to see the driver so it stands in court “who was behind the wheel”.

Got caught speeding in Germany, the machine took a picture of my face and of my plate. Unless they are able to identify the driver they cannot cash in on the fine

@@simonetanzi5103 In Australia it defaults to the car owner. Owner then has to prove it was somebody else.
@simonetanzi5103 Жыл бұрын
@@captainpoppleton yeah that makes sense, but Germany is peculiar with personal privacy, so unless they can identify beyond reasonable doubt who the driver is, you can appeal the fine. There was no room for appeal in my case lol

@@captainpoppleton Yeah which is why the US takes a photo of the driver and the plate, usually one of the back so you have two pictures; as they approach and after they cross the opposite line.

I love how there was that one brief story arch where Jason couldn’t find work because every time he auditioned for a role or talked to anybody in the business all they saw was Costanza. In Curb Jason acts and speaks “normal” but at the drop of a hat can immediately become Costanza like he did here.

First you've got to get people to give a shit about what you do, that's the hard part. The cold truth is that there are huge numbers of incredibly talented and/or motivated people out there.
