My college friend of 40 years and I used to say this to each other every election. He was a staunch republican ,God rest his soul, and I am a tree hugging liberal. The only difference is that we would drive to our voting location together to make sure we would cancel each other's vote.

Same, except it used to be five liberals vs one conservative. As we grew up and began using our heads, learned some history, understood how people work, what truly helps people improve vs what doesn't, and that politicians aren't gods, it's now completely reversed. The one holdout is always complaining and offering conservative solutions without realizing it, but is so entranced by the ideology he can't admit that he's not really liberal anymore. 🤷🏿♂️
