@@magosexploratoradeon6409 i like the way you put it, personally i’ve only ever trained kung fu and a bit of boxing during my younger years and i find a lot of martial arts is fluff not because it’s practical but because it sets you up for performing a technique in unideal circumstances and still doing it well. He was hoping that since the guy was an "amateur" he'd be able to hold his own and possibly win. Not only casual mood improvement, but in China you won't be taught the practical way of actually using it unless you're part of the inner circle or when the goverment finally drafted you. Then those useless movements start to make sense because you're supposed to do them while holding weapons like bow or short blades. His movements makes more sense if he's holding a dagger with hand protector IMO, so the movement of the opponent's stabbing would get deflected by the hand guard and the small punch in the end is the stabbing. But I'm just talking out of my ass since I don't know his style, it's just what I see.

But there are martial arts that that are really pratical, look really cool, and work irl scenarios too. ie, bjj, karate, boxing, muaythai, there are also knife arts (kali and arnis) though they also teach you grapples and how to disarm against people with knives. Albeit its really sad to see the meaning of martial arts are being watered down by these rejects.

@@snayper7446are martial arts and kung fu same ?

@@Dan-jo7zm well one could argue if kung fu is a part of martial arts or not. But martial arts are basically "arts of fighting", i guess. Or maybe using the body or a weapon as an extension of the body in combat or sport-like combat might be considered martial arts. Yeah martial arts is just basically a general term for styles of fighting that are used.

This guy might be a master, but his opponent mastered the art of master baiting and made our master dude charge head first which made him vulnerable to attacks.

not only is he deluded but this fight was originally supposed to be between him and another 70 yr old "martial master". So i guess he just planned to push each other around a bit or something. Unfortunately the opponent was determined "unfit for fighting" by a medical examiner, and 50 yr old MMA fighter Wang Qingmin was subbed in. Oof size : Large

The moment someone doesn't need to uphold the rules of kung fu, they win. I am sure there are some very clever kung fu fighters out there but brute force and using your full body weight can be a real advantage in a fight.
