thank you Ruth for this tutorial. You can also make a copy-past of a range from Excel, which is very useful.

Hello Ruth, I don't understand this time. Although this is not a complex video. But you can just copy paste from data in Excel. (put the curor in the first "cell"). I think this works very smooth....What is the disadvantage of this method?

+Bart Titulaer Hi Bart, The table is stored internally in Power Bi so you avoid hardcoded paths and therefore problems with data refresh when moving the file around... Also the user can modify the table without having access to the source as well as ... You avoid having the table in power query when no cleaning is needed. This is a personal preference thing I would say. I love this capability. I should have clarified this in the video, so thanks for asking! /Ruth

Yes you can paste data in from Excel. It will promote your first row to the be the headers but it lets you undo that step.

In this context of creating a static parameter table, DATATABLE function of DAX is also worth mentioning. Using DATATABLE function one can also define column names, datatypes as well as values.

Hi Ruth! You asked about the name of {}. [ ] are brackets, and { } are called either curly brackets (because of their curly shape) or braces. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bracket A chance for me to contribute! Thank you!!
