I copied the lyrics from Ma Solitude by the late Georges Moustaki. In English, the word solitude rather than loneliness is used. I think that is more appropriate because we are not necessarily lonely when we experience solitude. Love this poem/song. In so much as to have slept With my loneliness It has become my closest friend My own kind of happiness My Loneliness It is never far away No shadow is so close We never are apart No matter where I go. No, I never am alone With my loneliness. When in the shadow of my bed It takes the entire space The lonely nights that we have spent Together, face to face I cannot say just how far It will go with me Will I have to decide To accept, or set it free? No, I never am alone With my loneliness. And when my feeble life is o'er Then and there it shall be free But until then it will remain A very special part of me And should I prefer the love Of another courtiere Still we'll never be apart But forever as we were. No, I never am alone With my loneliness. No, I never am alone With my loneliness.

It sounds like the experience of Zurich training was one of tough love, find your own self love or perish. Life can be more generous, and make our way to self love and solitude a cushioned experience of self-acceptance, self-forgiveness, and self-discovery. The experience of being in a relationship that is loving and at the same time "spacious" enough for each other's solitude is blissful and possible. I guess there is no "one size fits all", some will eventually find solitude in loneliness, some in relationships, some in the midst of a spiritual path or illness, some in the midst of a pandemic, and so on. But certainly the experience of being loved, respected and accepted, whether as a child or an adult, is one generous way towards teaching one to appreciate solitude. Bottom line, when someone is feeling lonely, that is not the time to tell them to go find themselves, maybe nurture them to love themselves is a more successful way.

Introverts are naturally more self possessed, needing and enjoying solitude for inner growth.

Wow, I couldn't make it past the five minute mark. His obvious misunderstanding of proper attachment/bonding and developmental stages is alarming. If nature were as ineffective at preparing us for the physical world as he states, we wouldn't be here. Yes, Developmental Trauma is ubiquitous, but he conflates that with it being normal. Holy cow! These concepts are about half a century out of date. We are supremely designed by evolution to *thrive*. What derails this is the abysmally immature, ignorant, and callous "parenting" that many people receive. This irreparably derails the developing psyche of the child, turning the world from an engaging playground to a threatening hellscape requiring ridiculous defensive accommodations just to survive.
