When Mark Lacsamana was diagnosed HIV positive, he was determined to treat more than his condition-he wanted to cure Philippine society’s misinformed fear of this infamous disease.
Mark is a designer, calligrapher, and problem solver. He has worked in technology and art for the past 4 years and started his design career in high school. He has given talks on design at the Philippine Web Designer's Organization Form Function Conference and has participated in User Experience conferences in Asia.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Thank you for your talk. I was diagnosed with AIDS in 1996. I'm so glad things have changed so much for the better.

Thank you for sharing. If you are lucky to be rich and with the virus, think of how to assist a majority hard hit by the virus and economic hardships in the third world.

Great story but I really don’t see the point of telling us you’re rich ....

The Philippines is an impoverished nation with a huge divide between the rich and the poor. I only gave it as a caveat since your financial capability can really make the difference with how much access to information you have. I understand my privilege and know that this isn't what happens to everyone but my point is why can't everyone have access to information?
