How is the tank.. is sca a dependable brand? Have you had any leaks since it was set up. I'm ready for an upgrade and would like and honest review on the tank now that it's been 3 year's

1st I hope that laminate flooring is water proof or you have some brass? Anyways, I would add powerhead in along with some MicroBacter7 - from Brightwell Aquatics which will only speed up the curing process!!

I'm really trying to find a concrete info about this rock. Does it needs to be cured or not? Yeah, of course it needs to be rinsed thoroughly and then seeded with bacteria, but I just wanna know for sure is this rock without any organics in it and is it safe to be put in already established reef after being properly washed/rinsed etc.

I have used this Dry Rock. I had in a 50 gallon trash can with saltwater for a week. Tested the water. To see where the chlorine and Nitrate levels were. And I did a water change and two weeks later the chlorine and nitrate was 0ppm. And at that time I drained the water and put it my established aquarium and l added 10 pounds of live rock. With the light off on my aquarium for three weeks and it coming along fine. Getting a lot coloring.

Also I have been a hobbyist for 30 years. I worked at Marineland in the aquatic center. For a summer in the late 70’s and a science major.

I just went to a frag swap and instead of making my aquascape, I managed to buy one that I liked alot. However orginally I was just planning on upgrading 1 of my 2 coral grow out tanks/QTs, but realized I wanted to actually enjoy a mixed reef, thus buying a rock scape and changing plans. By making this choice, it means having to put off the transfer and waiting a bit longer. I've got quite afew online coral orders waiting to be delivered. If I did something similar, basically submerging my scape for 2-3 weeks, then adding it and my old tanks biomedia + coral to the new and bigger tank, would that be considered a safe set up? Never really had to start a tank up from the beginning so just want to make sure if there's more I should be doing, that I get it done....or if this will be enough, and maybe I'm just over thinking it

Question🤔. Can coralline algae grow in the dark ? Been curing my rock in a 40gal brute with lid(about a month now). And I’m noticing purple marks on the rock... Similar set up. Powerhead at bottom with pvc , heater, and weekly water change ..

What kind of container is that?
@johngabriel21035 жыл бұрын
Lol I have the same container with a mix of BRS reef saver and Marco Rocks prime and shelf cuts. Been “cycling” since August. My Crystal Dynamics tank should be here in a few weeks. Can’t wait! Enjoying watching your build. Keep it up!

Im guessing the container broke which is why he hasnt been back lol

If these are marco reefsavers they are not produced. They are mined and cleaned from ancient reefs so yes there may be some stuff that needs to decay but if cleaned properly it helps to cure em so bacteria film can take hold on the surface.

3 day black out for DINO's is nothing but a band aid on an open wound. You did nothing to correct the problem that spurred the DINO outbreak in the first place. FYI, it will come back until you address the issue that cause the outbreak.
