SID- If most people could handle addictions themselves, and all of their problems themselves, then they WOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN addicted in the first place! Therapy is an extremely beneficial tool for many people when it comes to addiction and so I have to agree with Dina here. Also, YAY you guys are back with questions!!! :D

@pssurvivor5 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's innate in men to not talk of their feelings or go to therapy, it's societal conditioning. What Dina said is right, we need to change how we talk about therapy, not shame men into silence and guilt.
@mccrabtree5 жыл бұрын
Dina: "Why don't we just change the way we talk about therapy?" YES. YES. YES. Sid is completely wrong here. A therapist doesn't solve your problems - they help you find coping mechanisms so that you can lead a healthier life. And he's been addicted to rap, basketball, and Islam? WTF? He has NO idea what addiction is. Sometimes Sid is spot on, but here he is sharing an opinion that is not only baseless but kind of dangerous. Addictions are serious.
@christabel51485 жыл бұрын
Sid does not have a realistic view about addictions. You need to read about mental health issues. Addictions don't work that way Sid. Dina has a more realistic approach. Sid is also blocking out therapy and projecting that all men don't want therapy.
@urmiak18155 жыл бұрын
Christabel what Dina said is right but remember, a man knows another man the best. To women, therapy is the most logical approach to solving this problem. But men on the other hand don’t think like us women. To them, ego is ultimate and they will never ever let another being tell them what they are suppose to think like. That’s just how men are. And from my experience, sid is absolutely right about this problem from a man’s perspective.

@feisamurai9825 жыл бұрын
Urmi Ak But that’s not realistic or healthy, Not only are men letting their egos and stubbornness get in the way of their well-being, it would affect their significant others and children and they’re suppose to lead by example. If you have a physical Health problem you would go see a doctor, just like if you have a mental health problem you should also go to the doctor. Awareness is important
@reemagoyal26535 жыл бұрын
Sid openly saying he would never go to therapy in that tone of voice and saying it’s not a man thing wasn’t right tbh. In many situations therapy has changed peoples lives and cured depressed people and he shouldn’t have used a big platform with many followers to put people off from going to therapy
@Aliyah221b5 жыл бұрын
Definitely think Sid was perpetuating the idea that men don’t do therapy. Especially in the asian community, it is not beneficial to talk about how most men won’t do that. Maybe we should talk about the men who are taking steps to getting better. That is beneficial, that is important.

@anwaarsamai4 жыл бұрын
Therapy ain't helping anything, many men would really rather stress themselves out mentally and get divorced than to subject themselves to that. With that being said, a hobby and maybe a job and some adventure was what curbed my porn addiction 3 years ago. The energy was completely burnt out from the body and when you came home, all you wanted was hot tea and you fell asleep because you are physically unable to do anything. You basically using the extra energy to slowly release that same dopamine during the day doing other activities rather than the burst shot porn would give you.
@tiaraashley15 жыл бұрын
Shaving against the grain is what gives you ingrown hairs lol Dina is incorrect
@lisao44085 жыл бұрын
The key here is clarifying the difference between addiction and an obsession. An addiction is when someone’s well being depends on a substance and leads to oxytocin (happinesses) only being released when the person is fulfilling their addiction. In order to fix this, one must find why they get happiness from their addiction and how to not mentally rely on it. This is best done through therapy. An obsession like Sid and basketball, is when you feel like your life revolves around something, however if that thing was taken from your life, although you would be sad, you would be able to eventually find other things that bring you happiness e.g other hobbies. If the man is obsessed with porn then he needs other hobbies but if he is addicted and it is the only way he can be satisfied or go about his day, then he is addicted and needs professional help.

OH MY GOOOOD!!! Already by the middle of this video I was preparing to go off on Sid. But then I got through the video, saw the comments and I'm so happy that I'm not alone in getting so frustrated with Sid!! Like, I feel bad for Dina! Addiction is not something that can be solved "just by getting a hobby" or "getting passionate about something else". There is an underlying issue, which is the reason for the addiction. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS THERAPY!! Sid reminds me of my brother and father, as well as most middle eastern/muslim men: they have an obscured and uneducated point of view on therapy and mental health. Please educate yourselves on this matter. It is not "just a stranger listning to your issues" or "a waste of money". Just like you go to a doctor for anything wrong with your physical health you need to go to a different kind of doctor for your mental health. Just like Dina said. Sorry for going off, but the frustration is real yall!! 🤣

Sid mentioning his addiction to basketball is so relatable. Teenage me was addicted as well. 24/7 thinking about basketball, when am I gonna watch or play basketball, how to get better at basketball. No Sid, being addicted to porn is a serious issue and trying to take your mind off of it won't work just as much "positive thinking" won't help you cure depression or trying to stay calm won't cure your pathological anxiety. I'm not tryina attack but ppl most of the time make mental illnesses like they are so way to treat when they're not. It's just as any other form of addiction and it should be treated as such by a professional. When I studied psychiatry pur professor showed us an article about how the levels of dopamine( the hormone that takes part in addiction) rise after certain actions such as smoking cigarettes, snorting cocaine, drinking alcohol and having sex. And guess what? The release after sex is HIGH. Everything that gives you pleasure whether it's sex or food will act in a similar way. There is a change the way your brain works. And no, thinking about smth else won't work because no matter what an addict will still go back to what gives him the most pleasure ( porn in this case). A therapist has to take care of the situation, it's not something these two can handle on their own. And just like Dina said, video sex is probably more a solution for her than for him. I hope they both can find a solution and live a happy life

Oh Sid. Surely you should be using your platform to encourage men to access therapies for whatever the problem. 100% agree with Dina on the porn question. Esp the point of changing the way we talk about therapy. If we keep saying therapy isn't a realistic option, it never will be a realistic option. More people need to talk about therapy and advocate for it to make people more comfortable with actually taking their mental HEALTH seriously and seeing a therapist.
@chiara49795 жыл бұрын
Lol Dina's right: the difference is in the thickness of the hair rather than in the number of hair follicles. Men tend to have darker, thicker hair on their body because the levels of testosterone are much higher than in females. Well,, women usually have this type of hair around the pubic area and the armpits, whereas on the face we have peach fuzz. But it always comes from hair follicles😂
