If you make a draw to the button and then want to guard that line, do you need to take a little more or less ice to place a guard, say 14 feet out from the button. thanks

Good video for beginners.

Not just beginners. I see a lot of seasoned skips who don't use the T-line as described by Matt. I do because someone taught me this in my first year. I also hover my broom above the ice in cases where sightline is an issue.

Im confused. If slow/fresh ice curls less, then why does the skip set the start line further out?

Very helpful for new skips. Just a pointing out that the explanation for the amount of curl in items #2 and #4 appear contradictory. Both items are fresh pebble and slow ice. Item #2 states there is less curl with this condition; while item #4 states there there will be more curl requiring more broom. I realize that you are trying to keep it simple for new skips but maybe a further explanation of how the conditions while similar, yield different results.

Good point! I will try to clarify in the description tomorrow. If it still doesn’t make sense I will just have to redo the video. :( wish I had a proofreader...

I couldn't wait until tomorrow so I just tried to explain a little further in the comments... I was trying to keep it simple but curling is just not so simple! ha

Maybe the point should just be... make the OTHER skip throw way out there in that fresh stuff! ;)

@@CurlingClass I'm still a little confused. I do notice the curl changing as the game progresses but I don't know why. I just live with it. It would be nice to understand what is happening.

How can you use the house that you are sliding over when throwing a stone help in the aim/line of delivery?
@CurlingClass

Disregard the stones on the table that are in the garage. Look at it from the point of view that I am the skip and the camera is my teammate. Or if that is just a separate question altogether, I have no idea how to use the house I'm sliding over to help my line of delivery. You should never be looking down while delivering a stone.
