You know what's odd? My wash 'n gos never turn out exactly alike, not even with the same products. It is so odd. I have a looser curl pattern though, so maybe it's that. My hair never seems to lay the same. I guess that is why I am OK with using a lot of products up that are now in my stash. I don't know what does make the difference, so, I just use the products I can get my hands on. LOL! Loved this video! You go, girls! :D

Marleen G. You are not alone with that experience. I seriously have yet to see a product work the same in my hair. I don’t get it either. It may be the beginning phase of shampooing or co-washing or lack there of. I have no idea. But I just accept this as part of my natural hair journey. Everyday is different ➰🦁💕➰

TaylorAnne, your hair is pretty long, probably as long as or longer than mine(tailbone). How do you stay motivated to wash your hair so often? I notice the longer my hair gets the less I want to be bothered with it. BTW, my hair is a mixture of 3b-into the 4s.
@MADCURLS6 жыл бұрын
I stay motivated to wash my hair so much because I love this KZbin a Channel haha but before KZbin I was 100% on that wave. To me, if a product didn’t give me 4-5-6 days, it wasn’t good. I didn’t want to be bothered with my hair every single day! Which I think was better for the health of my hair to be honest. Too much daily manipulation of the hair isn’t good. -TaylorAnne

Ok, so I have a question, I've been really trying to take care of my hair so that I can get my curls to a healthy state and it's going Well, but...Im noticing that my wash & go's don't last me more than a day or two before it gets really tangled, frizzy and just unmanageable. I have very fine 3a 3b hair. I use a leave in and a gel to top it off usually. But like u gals om a product junky so the combos change. Idk if u have advice or a suggestion. Oh and the lil fairy knots are making me break off my hair. Please help. Just recently like 5 months ago got a hair cut.

Yes, LoriAnne, you are CORRECT about the Curlz brand! I am the same age as you and newly natural. Before I big chopped last year, a few years ago I watched a good friend transition, and she raved about this Curls brand. I was taking mental notes about the products she was using at that time. Back then I could only locate a CURLZ brand in my area; I could never find the CURLS brand in the store. Then slowly I started seeing the Curls brand more and more, and the Curlz brand seemed to have morphed into the Curls brand. But I DO remember the CURLZ brand, ending with a Z that was priced higher than the apparently re-launched CurlS brand. :)

ILTL00 Yes Ma’am I KNEW I wasn’t imagining things. I am a stickler for details. 🤣 and welcome to our channel. I haven’t seen your name before. It’s always good to have us mature folk on the page. Haha! That’s good that your on the journey. It’s not easy but I love it so much more than my relaxed hair. I big chopped in November 2016 after having been natural, at the time for like 8 or so years. Then my hair got damaged from meds so I had to start all over again. If you find our first year you will see how far my hair has come. I came on this channel like 3 months into my big chop. I’ve cut it twice since then, the last time being December 2017. I am on my way out today to take it down once again. It’s shedding more than I like. It’s time to trim before I have to cut from all the split ends I’m getting. Ok! As you can see I’m a talker 🤣 just sharing. 🤓💕➰-LoriAnne PS we also do a LIVE stream on KZbin every Friday night, so consider joining us one of these Fridays.

Your hair does look great TaylorAnne! What did you use to recover? JessiCurls or your go to As I am? Manuka Honey mask?
@MADCURLS6 жыл бұрын
Michele Scott thank you! It was protein overload so the first thing I did was start to check ingredients, I did not want to use any products with protein at all. I did use a lot of JessiCurl, those products have no protein in them. I love their deep conditioner and I did a lot of deep conditioning treatments to counter all the dryness of my hair. I also really took my time detangling my hair, I used a brush and fine tooth comb to really make sure I got alllll the knots out because I had fairy knots overload. I also reduced the amount of times I did my hair during the week for a few weeks, as little manipulation as possible was super important. -TaylorAnne

Hi Lorie Anne! I recently had to big chop all over again (yesterday) because my hair was falling out and it was causing me so much stress. I know you went through something similar. I was wanting to know how did you get through it. I’m devastated and was wondering how did you gain your confidence back? Any encouraging words would be lovely thank you 😊
@MADCURLS6 жыл бұрын
Tyanna Williams Awww....... I have been there! Yes ma’am I have. I would watch the OG KZbinr, Taren Guy. I watched a video one day where she insisted that you MUST go out and not hide your hair in its awkward phase. It’s a must. She swore after doing this just one time you will gain your confidence. Well, I did. I picked a horrible night though🤣 I had to show up at my church for an Easter play practice and my husband was rushing me. I had used Miss Jessie’s Curly Meringue and the results were just awful. He started honking the horn so on top of my short hair, my insecurities and my even worse Wash and Go I left for Church. When I arrived everyone turned around or at least it felt that way. I had been hiding my hair in a slicked back 1950’s “greaser” look..... as if that was any style. But when those people saw my big ole Frizzy no Curl definition lopsided W and G they froze or maybe I did 🤣. I took a seat and kept an extremely low profile. Lower than an earth worm. Well, I made it through that night and 2 days later on Easter Sunday Jesus rose from the dead and I rose like a Phoenix. My hair was undoubtedly just as short. But ANYTHING was better than that previous Friday night. It just took that one night going out and being seen so vulnerable and I was able to start rocking my short hair. It’s not easy. But DO NOT HIDE! Dig deep. You got this. Don’t let anyone intimidate you or belittle you. And ps. I’m cutting my hair Wednesday. So you won’t be alone. #staystrong 🤓💕➰-LoriAnne

M.A.D.CURLS omg thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means. I felt like I went through a traumatic experience. I know that sounds so dramatic but it’s so true. I have spent the last years growing my hair and just to cut it off all over again left me so sick to my stomach. It was so scary and I just wanted to go and hide but I am determined to have a successful and healthy hair journey. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. It has helped me tremendously.
@MADCURLS6 жыл бұрын
Tyanna Williams Remind us, if you want to talk about this On Friday night Live. It needs to be discussed. You are not being dramatic. I was emotionally affected. My hair was me. It was cute and shoulder length and blond with highlights and I literally went to an inch perhaps a little longer in the front. But 2 days later I had to Go back and get more cut because it still was a mess. I hid in the house. Didn’t wear makeup. It definitely affected my self esteem. But I swear if you hold your head up and face the world. It will Change your life. Say “yeah I cut my hair” what of it? 🤣 someone had the nerve to say to me, “oh, I liked your hair longer”😳😳😳 like really? What was I supposed to do with that info? I couldn’t grow it back in 10 Seconds. People are just rude. Don’t let them affect you. 😘

Tyanna Williams this is so REAL. I recently did a big chop too. My hair was thinning so badly and I thought I was going to be bald. It shook me. Now my hair is starting to come back. I’ve been diligent with my hair care and seeing folks online like LoriAnne really helps to inspire confidence and it gives me hope! Hang in there thinning curlies! LoriAnne thanks for sharing your story.

Do a video useing a leave I from one brand and a gel or styler from another brand just to see how they work together
@MADCURLS6 жыл бұрын
Angela Marcinkevich That’s an idea but if they aren’t compatible then it’s a wasted Wash and Go. These days we are wetting our hair less frequently to preserve its integrity. 🤓🦁
@tashvelez72866 жыл бұрын
Angela Marcinkevich I like that idea cuz I do that a lot. Even when I have the combo with same brand I still mix. But I always do the lil test on my hand before hand. If it clumps up then it's a no go 4sure. I know they're taking it easy on their hair, understandably but if once in a while u they can do that it would be cool.
@nikkilope52856 жыл бұрын
I havnt seen you guys in a while but I'm back!! 😊 I agree though I think it's crazy when my hair grows unevenly especially when I just got my hair trimmed. Have you guys tried the new leave in by deva curl?? I tried it today but I didn't like how it felt in my hair

Nikki Lope Welcome back Miss Nikki. You’ve been missed. 🤓🦁💕➰

I now mix my leave-in or curl cream + gel in the palm of my hand to see if it will mix well. If it curdles it will flake in my hair, if it mixes well (homogenous mixture) then it's going to go well in my hair. I last had a disaster with the Every Strand curling cream, that is one product that does not mix well with *any* gell at all! Not even a serum can you use with it afterwards or it will flake. Granted the product has a lot of hold by itself, so technically you can call it a cream and a gel in one. I put this product in my hair this Sunday, and it was so odd using only one product. But be warned about that product, it is a lesser known brand I think. Maybe with good reason. Too bad, because it's easy, but they might have issued a warning with it that it's a product that doesn't play well with others. It is amazing by itself, though!
@MADCURLS6 жыл бұрын
Marleen G. Yes, the “test” mixing of 2 products in the hand is a good cursory start to see if products will play well together but it hasn’t always worked for me in that way. Sometimes they will switch up in my hair 😡 haha! Thank you for sharing your experience with these products 🤓💕➰-LoriAnne
@amixeblu6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it doesn't work - I know. And sometimes it looks as if it's going to curdle and the products do well (Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie + gel for instance). But then I have a looser curl pattern and I don't use a lot of product, so sometimes I can get away with it. LOL!

TaylorAnne the reason why your hair is growing the way it is is because that’s how it’s supposed to grow. Like when I get my hair cut it’s even. Then a few months later my hair is uneven again. It grows to a point in the middle of my back. You know it’s great that you all are using hair products you already have. It’s still good and still works. 😊 I have these items and haven’t used this in a long time. I really appreciate this channel. 🤣😂😅 Plastic surgery. LoriAnne you are so funny. Neither one of you need it though. Yes people go too far with plastic surgery. I like your results. Thanks for your video.

@meagain2796 жыл бұрын
M.A.D.CURLS thanks so much ❤❤❤ low porosity hair : 1- tends to have lots of build-up 2- water doesn't go in easily 3- takes ALOT (like 1 day) to be fully dried 4- holds moisture in the hair for a long time High porosity hair : 1-tends to be very frizzy and dry and brittle 2-loses its moisture quickly 3- gets wet very very easily and quickly 4- likes buttercreams and extra moisturizing products 5- soaks in a ton of extra water and product that leads it to have moisture overload so it needs protein treatments ;however, it's hard for it to retain it's moisture Medium porosity : 1- perfect .LOL😂😜

Trimming really has nothing to do with shedding a lot all of a sudden (but I don't want to mess with your trimming schedule). Maybe have some bloodwork done to be on the safe side (I have it done yearly because I have health issues anyway). Too little iron and bam, you shed bucket loads. It could also be a product that doesn't agree with your scalp, because hair can fall out due to oil on the scalp or conditioner on the scalp - it is a thing; I know a girl that lost 40% of her thickness due to CO-washing, she went back to shampoo and it stopped shedding as bad as it was. I also can't do oil or conditioner on the scalp, as my hair will shed bucket loads, no joke! I'm dead serious here. :)
