I miss our Curly Coat! He died around 10 years ago (he died of cancer, started in his toe but spread to his lungs and other organs) but he was pretty perfect. We got him when I was around 4, and he was wonderful. He didn't care about me or my friends running around and playing (he did get my teddy's nose and a barbie arm when he was a baby). His only issues were later in life he developed epilepsy and he got a little dog aggressive (fear based and NEVER turned on a human). He got a slipped disc in his back and someone let their boxer come running across the main village road and bounced on him while he was in severe pain, and he reacted. He then, when he was in pain, was leery with other dogs, never our other one though. And would let vets and everyone poke and prod him and never made a muff or move. RIP Hoover.

My Toby is supposed to be a curly and he certainly looks like one but he is a pretty fit 52kg which is way OTT. Physically very strong, very family and friends oriented but a good watch-dog, and loves his cuddles. A bit territorial and quite protective and a great joy!

I have one, she is my giant baby. I wish i could post pictures because she is my lap dog. She wants to be carried around like a baby. Shedding is minimal in my opinion, nothing compared to my lab. As for cold tolerance, I'd give mine a 1/10 she is a freeze baby! Hates the winter and we live in Minnesota. I've seen several late season duck and goose hunting so I'm sure it's just mine.

Our Curly Coat used to love sitting on people's laps. He would back towards them, then just hop and sit on knees. The only issue was when he did it to one of my primary school friends, as she was petite (skinny and short) she disappeared. All you could see was curly dog.

I have two and I really do hope, that nobody will decide on this breed only by the information given in this video. some of it is simply not right, like, they are basically aloof with strangers , very good in guarding, very good with old people ( I am visiting a retirement home weekly with one of them), but definitely not a pet for old people as they need a lot of exercise and definitely not a family pet only.

@@skittles7773 Maybe a bit late but it is a big breed, you can train agility but the curly is not the fastest dog in agility, so don't have to high hopes. Males can get big and heavy, my boy is 73 cm and weigh closer to 50 kg. My earlier curly was smaller around 35 kg, also male. Agility is not the best sport for this breed.

I was puzzled by this too. I thought maybe they said this because they have high exercise needs and seniors might not be able to walk them as often as they need? But yea, puzzling category.

Bonjour ,j'en possède un :Kim ,il est adorable;Croisé avec un retriever normal(non bouclé )son pelage est plus long ,surtout sur les pattes et la queue ,ce qui le rend encore plus beau!!!!(le l'aime ,c'est mon AMI et il me rend toute sa tendresse ,Ses défauts :il avale tout (ou presque)et pour le brosser ........UN RODEO!!!!!

I guess it's because people don't use anymore the dog breed for what the breed was selected. They evalutate how much the dog will stay on the carpet sleeping, if it's a dog who lives well in apartamente, all their rating will be high, no sense
