Try taking your #3 guard closed with the grain to take out the bulk that you ended up removing with clipper over comb. Closing the lever and going with the grain really smooths out the bulk above your highest guard, regardless of the length on top. For example, if the highest guard you used was #2 open, close the lever with the 2 guard and go with the grain to remove the bulk above that, and so on.

@@Jay_Tsunami_ not if he did it just above the line created with the #3 open. Of course if you start it too high it will remove more than intended

I fade with #1.5, that means i must with#1.5 guard with the grain?

@@ionuthuluparu1528 it depends how long the hair is that the 1.5 is fading into. If it’s long like I’m this video then 1.5 with the grain wouldn’t blend into the top the same as clipper over comb. It’s trial and error and better to start with a bigger guard first to see if it takes off enough hair.

@@BlakeSuperior_Beats i have once tried with the grain and I start first with #3, than #2 and with the #2 close for #1.5 guard fade was great

For beginner i would say what ever clipper and trimmer brand that fits your budget.

Jrl 2020c is a good beginner clipper. It has a taper blade which gives u softer blends and is not as sharp as a fade blade + you can zero gap them easily with their added tool. As far as trimmers go, any will do basically. Considering they are all in the same price range I’d recommend babyliss skeleton, but you can also find some good china trimmers for 50$ that work like a charm. Same goes with clippers (china wahl copies).
